FCP-SLB final I hope, so Porto can also take any hope of Benfica winning anything. If we do meet Deco usually put's on a show.

It's our cup again, just like the league.

Tough Braga is in great form and it will be tough, probally harder then the final's. FC Porto also has many games, from league to Champions League to worry about, so certain guys will be rested. SLB is still in the Uefa cup also.

But Belenenses has hit rock bottom since A.Inacio took over.

Porto-Benfica would be a great final, but screw Jamor get a better venue, it's so small for a final.

Jamor hold 39000 spectators. With higher capacity are just Alvalade XXI.

The final, without doubt, will be SLB x FCP, but then again, stranger things have happened. Yes, we know that Jamor is a dump, but if the final were held at the Luz or Estádio do Dragao, then it wouldn't be a neutral site now, would it?

I dident know Jamor can hold 40,000 but I rather it be at Alvalade, man even our ground or Luz, half-half anything but that old stadium.

I also finally wanna see the game televised, not just highlights.:f***: Cup games should be on TV, even from the start, specially by final 8.

yes i agree too that National Stadium not give proper conditions to games like these. I personally don't like that stadium. The solution is to give the final venue randomly each year. We have very good stadiums now that can hold finals.

with this comment you just proved to be a kid No with this comment I proved to be on the side of PDC and Mourinho you know the guys that are there every year unlike SLB so no about the poor conditions, and also how it's small and most fans get shafted OUT of this, by no TV showing it, witch is true. I been lately always seeing FCP winning it by TV highlights, it's hard when the venue is small and crappy, outdated.. Tough it will be on RTP now the FCP game.

You think they go play Copa Italia in Palermo always in a final, they draw it and the stadiums capable of it, get it. It's diferent all the time just like in Spain kid get over Jamor, we are better off in a draw, so all get benifited.

:mrpimp: get over it... If it was tradition why not we all play in our old stadiums? FCP requested last yer to play in a new venue as that place had no conditions to hold a Cup final, but you know more then I guess a FCP board, the organization must call you ASAP.

A draw? But without Luz and Dragão... A final is to be played in a neutral venue. In Italy the final have 2 legs (it sucks!) and in Spain they choose a stadium and not draw one.
So, all new stadiums for Euro2004 have a capacity of 30000. If the final will be Benfica-Porto my pick to host it is Alvalade. The most modern, secure and bigger stadium available. The question of the bathrooms and chairs i think will not happen. Porto have already visited Luz and Alvalade and Sporting visited Luz and nothing happened. And the stadium have other security levels than the old Alvalade...

we don't play at old stadiums because uefa and fifa are trying to transform football in some kind of nba of the europeans. i guess you didn't read the post i put on the superliga thread talking about the true magic of football.

whatever the stadium for the final is, if we beat belenenses this wednesday we'll win it. let it be at the myth of the animal who throws some fire stadium. we'll win in anyway, if we get past belenenses, of course!

I just seen on RTP this morning that the TAÇA DE PORTUGAL will infact be played in Braga's old stadium 1' de Maio, as the new ground still has a bad pitch.

Also the Nacional game now is April 14th.

It's Portuguese clubs I think? Any other country that dosent allow it upset Portugal? FC Porto also does that for a reason, if you been following football for a long time and FCP you would know, as a certain FCP player on loan once scored a own goal and sent his loan team out and FCP trough, then acusations of FCP making him or something do it,etc.. So PDC said never again and no f@cking player ever on loan from us has faced us, so bullsh;t that lisbon clubs and media love too do, never get a chance. It's sad as I would love to see many of our former players play us and show if they were worth keeping, but other club members messed that up.

Now back to the cup game..

OMG!!! JANKA got 3 GoAlS!!! the 3rd was indeed a beauty, but Jankacas stole the Nuno show. Who knew a guy that dident even have 3 goals all season, scores 3 in a cup game against Braga.

Give Braga credit they played great untill our third goal, they were going at us, good football. After the 3-1 it went down.

Bring on Lyon :mrpimp:

I can't imagine that next season that 2 of the Euro stadiums could be in the II Liga. Since Estrela are already gone now it comes down to Academica, Guimaraes, and even Leiria is not safe yet

7-1 is benfica's record alltime against Porto in finals....well that will be the score at the end of it;)

actually i do agree that the game be played in Algarve, one problem , the lisbon fans can get there much faster than the fans in Porto. Personally i feel the host stadium should be approximately in between both cities that are playing. For instance let's say Benfica advamces:rolleyes: the final will be between them and Porto(obviusly) so the stadium that would/should host is Aveiro or Coimbra, guimaraes is too close to Porto. Just to make it fair for fans from the North and SOuth of Portugal

Janka 3rd goal was indeed a beauty, but for a guy we expected alot from, he has not done much untill last night. He managed like I said in a previous post score more goals in that cup game, then his hole tally for the season, witch is 2.

Against Manure his presence made a diference, seeing how his foul led to our goal. But for a guy last year that netted a goal for the few minutes he was brought as Helder Postiga sub, even super sub, also a SD favorite, he this year failed untill last night.

His previous games he looked slow, also out of position, nothing like the guy that had 8 goals in the league and a few in the cup games. Even Jankacas was begining to stick to him, let's see what happens now to the Luthuanian international.

He is in great form and has netted all but one of his 5 goals this month, 1 league and 3 last night. Plus has been a big presence when he is on,dangerous even tough BigMac is still our best option till Ninja comes back. Benni has done the job well, even his constant offsides are going down.

Let's see if Janka can keep it up, as we need him badly now as many of our guys are down, hope we dont see Jankacas again and the bad phase passes.

damn. :nape: :nape:

that was a direct result of lots of games in the last few weeks, and we don't get to postpone games cause only GIRL TEAMS do that.

That was Belenenses?!?

No wonder why they r running to 2nd league!! They better start changing that attitude!!

That 1st half was poor!! Cant say how didnt Benfica score 3 or 4 more goals, all that defense and midfield was trashed!!

Too bad Benfica lost Petit, major miss against Inter probably!

i think the FPF should consider to make the cup final in one of the new euro stadiums for security reasons. Algarve's stadium could be it, it would be a great rehearsal for the euro games, and it gives better conditions to everyone who will go watch that game...

I agree, and since the Algarve stad won't be seeing superliga action it would be a good venue for games like this and NT matches..

yes. could be in Algarve. but PLEASE DON'T MOVE THE KICK-OFF TIME! The Portuguese Cup final is at afternoon. Always! But i think FPF will not move the final from Jamor.

Poderíamos fazer do Benfica-F.C.

I could care less if it's Lolé or Alvalade, just move it from Jamor as the venue is a joke, plus more fans get the chance now to attend, hope SLB excepts as I know Porto will since they been for years saying to get a better ground for such a final, plus TV and media people benifit.

Oh almost forgot congrats to SLB making the final, it will now be a great cup game, Belenenses was not what I wanted, this will be a great match, with FCP winning it.

Let it be Algarve and the sun.

Well, we certainly have some great neutral stadiums in Portugal now, no need for Jamor. I hope it's not Alvalade, although it is a great stadium. Algarve, Braga, any of the new stads would make for a great place for the final!
