Today 25 March 2004 at the Temple of Hera in Ancient Olympia, the lighting ceremony of the Olympic flame took place, following the ancient ritual of using the power of the sun's rays concentrated within a concave mirror. This signaled the start of the ATHENS 2004 Olympic Torch Relay, the first global Torch Relay.

If u think that the olympic flame is some plain stupid thing then probably u are just some kid that doesnt know what this means, and what it symbolizes. I think some of u didnt learn their lesson...:p

The flame is just a symbol of how the olympics are more of a money generating event then some sort of world peace non sense. Thanks god I will have events to remember like hockey being played in the summer, women's soccer making a comeback, some 12 yeal old girl getting yelled at by a 50 year old Romanian man for not smiling large enough after her landing and a bunch of doped up track and field competitors wearing package revealing spandex. The olympics are so comerical now I wouldn't be surprised to see some crap country like Qatar holding a Fuji Film flag instead of the national flag.
