Jaap Stam Joins AC Milan

AC Milan have finally agreed a deal to sign former Manchester United defender Jaap Stam according to a Dutch newspaper. Stam has agreed a 2 year deal with the european champions. The deal is set to be 11 Million Euros. Jaap Stam will join AC Milan in the summer.

Before playing for the Red Devils, the player, born in the town of Kampen, played for FC Zwolle, Cambuur Leeuwarden, Willem II and PSV Eindhoven.

The Dutch defender will now line up along the sides of Cafu, Maldini and Nesta in the backline at Milan, as they push for more honours.

its so late in the season, and the fact that Milan already have experienced (read old) defenders like Maldini, Cafu now Stam aswell.

It can only be a short term deal.

oh well glad Stam might be getting away from that Lazio place.

An old team gets older......ultimately not goina help them in the long run...they are the equivalent of the Oakland Raiders, the Toronto Maple Leafs or the Detroit Red Wings !

all very successful teams... except the Leafs in the playoffs :S :(

I doubt the Jaap Stam deal is really done, if it was then it would be announced on more credible websites instead of being said in some Dutch Newspaper :p

You're so right on that one.... anyway i don't think a defender is what Milan need.

Even if they need one, I think they should get a young one.

Here in holland they said he would leave Lazio this summer to go to milan and that the deal was done. So I guess this is true.

Againts Chievo only 5 defenders were called up..

Cafu, Pancaro, Maldini, Laursen, Billy :|

For a club of our calibre that is surely not enough

I mean.. Laursen :|

yer if they were to get a defender they would get a young one coz it wont be lonh before maldini retires and theyll need someone to raplace him who is gonna be there for a while, not someone who mite retire the next year
