Van der Meyde wants Inter exit
Tuesday, 30 March 2004
by Peter O`Rourke
Internazionale winger Andy van der Meyde has revealed he is looking to quit the Italian giants.
The Dutch international is frustrated at his lack of first team chances at the Giuseppe Meazza and is ready to cut his losses.
The right-sided midfielder invited former club Ajax to make a move for him, claiming he would jump at the chance to return to the Amsterdam ArenA.
"I would happily take a pay cut for a return to Ajax," van der Meyde told Voetbal International.
"Now I know what I had in Holland. I would rather play in a Mickey Mouse league than sit on the bench in Italy.
"Against Sochaux I played a good first half. But five minutes after half time I was substituted again. I did not understand that at all."
Birmingham City have been linked with the skilful wide man and van der Meyde admitted he is keeping his options open.
"If an interesting club comes for me I will think about it," added van der Meyde.
"I have learned from the stay in Serie A."

Stupid Zac and stupid Inter. A tremendous talent, an all out attacker who can take players on, make great passes and has a good shot, and he's dutch.
I agree with him, he should play more. Inter should heed the call and either play him more or let him move on. Whatever happens I wish him luck. Its a shame though.
STFInter pissing me off!!
:f***:
Kulixs 30-03-2004, 11:53:PM Well you know Chelsea are gonne be linked with him now, man utd would be a good move (H)

wow...thats been said about 100 times already:rolleyes:
besides...if a player feels his career is being ruined by joining Inter, he can voice his desire to leave, as Van der Meyde has
Stop putting all the blame on Inter....its a two way relationship.
LuckyStrike 31-03-2004, 12:27:AM Come back to Ajax!!!!
:rockman:
Payaah 31-03-2004, 12:29:AM About how old is he?
Keemo 31-03-2004, 12:31:AM 24?
Kulixs 31-03-2004, 01:25:AM He says hell take a pay cut to go back to Ajax, its doubtful though.
Zlatan 31-03-2004, 01:55:AM I will jump in the air if he returns to his home so early :)

he's always welcome here. Hes supposedely already in talks with Ajax about a part exchange deal for Zlatan, and the rest of the money they owed to Ajax going down to 3m:crazyboy:
Virgo 31-03-2004, 02:34:AM Is it just me that thinks that Zlatan wouldn't do sh!t in Italy?

INTER ARE THE SINGLE MOST DESTROYER OF YOUNG CAREERS IN THE WORLD!! :crazyboy:
Amdy Faye 31-03-2004, 02:54:AM He'd be perfect for Manchester United, a good wide/attacking player who can deliver a crucial ball, maybe he had a fall out at Inter, because he did play quite a bit when he came!
Kulixs 31-03-2004, 03:03:AM Inter play there new players for a few months, and once they get bored of them...well.......:kader:

Not funny, not smart, real ignorant.
Inter has had positive and negative effectson different players just like every club does so to say that Inter destroys the most young careers is just stupid.
An example of a young career Inter launched is in my avatar ;)
Anywayz on Van der Meyde I hope that Zaccheroni plays him instead of starting Helveg
Helveg sucks though week in and week out he starts??
Hopefully Zaccheroni uses his 3-4-3 with the wide forwards so that Van der Meyde can play in his best position and go back to playing well.
Though the main thing that is needed is to just play Van der Meyde consistently and hopefully Zac will so that we don't lose such a great talent:rockman:

Hopeunited 31-03-2004, 06:53:AM Yes I hope Van der Meyde will come back home to Ajax. He finally realizes how foolish a decision he made by going to the career-ruining giants. (H)
AhmedK 31-03-2004, 09:12:AM Meyde is the perfect assist player. He was amazing for Mido and Zlatan and he would replace Beckham for Man Utd. He would be perect for RVN, he makes so many good crosses.

::Jason:: 31-03-2004, 10:58:AM :hit: :alex: :boyaka:
anyway, Inter is pretty much the worst choice of club for Zlatan. Inter already have good attackers, plenty of them actually, they just can't use them properly.
Zlatan and Van Der Mayde can both come to play for us if they want. (H)
a Friend of mine has been boasting about Juve buying VDM, is there proof of them even going for him, now that they got Kapo.
Dumisani 31-03-2004, 12:15:PM he should go to Man Utd, that's only if SAF will let NotRonaldo play a supporting role
John_Arne_Riise 31-03-2004, 01:38:PM Maybe Liverpool should gain interest in van der Meyde, Diouf isnt up to much on the right side of the midfield.
£5 says he'll come to Milan in exchange for Roque Junior
alexandros 31-03-2004, 03:17:PM I don't really understand Inter's policy in transfers. They spend money every summer to buy loads of players and then they just let them stay there without playing. It's not just this year-need I remind the cases of Robbie Keane, Farinos, Frey etc., really talented young players who were never given a real chance to prove themselves. This year it's the same old story again. Maybe because it's not the manager who chooses the players but signor Moratti himself.
He will goto Chelsea. Just watch.
It all adds up, if rumours are true, Inter want Veron and I can see a trade for this man :O
Man we have to many midfielders.
Andrew 31-03-2004, 03:21:PM Veron will go to Chelsea in a swap deal with either Adriano, Vieri or Cannavaro:o
Silencer 31-03-2004, 03:44:PM Well I said from the getgo that it was a stupid move to go to Inter and sorry to say I was right.
I think he will return to Ajax and that's good for the team, I was sorry to see him go and will be happy if he returns and knowing Andy he will do everything in his power to make a return to Amsterdam possible since Ajax is where his heart is.
It's Inter's loss IMO, he's a great talent indeed but who cares... come back to Ajax Andy where you belong (H)
precise 31-03-2004, 05:16:PM Chelsea are renegotiating a new contract with Gronkjaer so i doubt they would go for him...
vdMeyde left Ajax too soon...he should have stayed another 1-2 seasons...

Can you say Bullsh!t??
Where did those rumors come from? Triballsh!tball.com??
Its not gonna happen
A washed up Veronf or Adriano? Psyche. For Vieri? Psyche. Maybe just maybe Cannavaro and even that I doubt since we already have Emre and Stankovic. IMO Veron to Inter is a BS rumor

Internazionale
by Nadia Carminati
Internazionale technical director Marco Branca has told unsettled Dutch star Andy van der Meyde he still has a future at the club.
Van der Meyde revealed he was considering quitting the club in the summer after growing increasingly frustrated at his lack of first team chances.
Branca has moved to ease van der Meyde's fears and insists he is part of Inter's long-term plans.
"It's a strange year for everybody, him included," Branca told the club's official site.
"As a club we are aware of this situation and we're also aware of the strength of van der Meyde, a player we're counting on for the future. So what he said in Holland isn't very important."
Branca also played down talk that Inter may launch a bid to sign Roma ace Francesco Totti in the summer.
Inter owner Massimo Moratti had revealed he would like to sign Totti, but Branca has ruled out their chances of landing the Italian international.
"In the current situation of Italian football such a transfer coup is not possible," added Branca.
"I think it would be very difficult to buy Totti. This is my personal opinion, but this is how I think things stand."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I hope this is true...the little blip about Totti is pretty funny though...would never happen...I'd flip if it did though
cyrex 31-03-2004, 10:33:PM he would be welcome at Juve (H)
Kulixs 31-03-2004, 10:35:PM He says hes leaving the italian league u joker! :crazyboy:
Silencer 01-04-2004, 03:10:AM Yup he wants to return to Holland (read Ajax) and Branca can say all he want but if he remains on the bench his frustration will grow even bigger and if a player wants to go he goes it's as simple as that, contract or no contract.
SB9Dragon 01-04-2004, 07:37:AM I hope that Zac will be forced to play him more, sorta like Berlusconi with Ancellotti in deciding formations...
