View Full Version : Gimako Is A Crook
Mikey 02-04-2004, 10:08:AM i know theres a thread about gimako.com, but i thought everybody should know what kinda guy he is. I recently received the Milan home 2 layer from him. and what a piece of crap it is.
The 3 front patches (milan badge, adidas logo and coppa italia in the center) are all SILK SCREENED on, and not actual badges. the number on the back is absolute trash, and is a completely fake looking attempt at trying to imitate adidas numbers. Its just an '8' with holes in it. Also the Champions league badge and the '6 CL ' badge are both bad quality. All in all, its a REALLY cheap looking jersey im ashamed to wear.
But these faults arent even the main reasons im mad. Before i bought the jersey, to avoid this situation i asked him to send me pics of the jersey (which ill post later), and they both had nicely sewn on badges. So he lied right there. I emailed him a week ago for an explanation, and he hasnt replied. he usually takes 2 days max to reply and has updated his site since than.
Oh and footykits4u, dont use thread to advertise your jerseys, theyre too expensive for my blood, especially as i just WASTED $50 on gimako.
manutd4eva 02-04-2004, 10:11:AM Just buy the real **** then.
You want fake, you get fake.
:crazyboy:
Mikey 02-04-2004, 10:12:AM the guy lied to me, if i knew it would be like that, i wouldnt have purchased it.
rony31 02-04-2004, 10:15:AM thanks for the heads up... I wanted that jersey, thank God I didnt get it :p
Mikey 02-04-2004, 10:15:AM heres a pic he sent me. What a nice guy:rolleyes:
Voltaic Borusse 02-04-2004, 10:17:AM You get what you pay for! Let this be a lesson for you.
You want 100% top quality? Purchase @ http://www.subsidesports.com
Mikey 02-04-2004, 10:17:AM hes sold out of it, so im betting theres gonna be A LOT of angry milanista.
Malenfant 02-04-2004, 10:18:AM why spend 50 dollars on a fake when you could get a real one for a little more? You get what you pay for :/
Mikey 02-04-2004, 10:21:AM youre telling me you wouldnt pissed off if the same happend to you? and i dont have the money to buy official jerseys. to get the same thing with all the patches, numbering etc it would be like 80$ I used to buy from a GREAT seller named soccergrip, but he doesnt sell jerseys anymore.
Side note: anyone wanna buy a milan jersey from me??????:(
show us pics of what you got
this is suprising
i have ordered about 6 jerseys from him
and all of them have been top class and look authentic:)
Mikey 02-04-2004, 10:23:AM i dont have a digital camera, but ill borrow one from a friend and hopefully show you tommorow. The guy doesnt even have the decency to reply to my emails, thats what really ticks me off (other than wasting my money)
that sucks man
maybe he will let you get a free jersey
get a madrid one because i got one and its fine (Y)
Voltaic Borusse 02-04-2004, 10:28:AM What a classy Croatia kit from Nike. :o

Psyatika 02-04-2004, 10:28:AM Ebay....seller durapink...actually there are a whole bunch of sellers that are basically the same thing.
Just like Gimako, only you can't personalise the jerseys to have whomever you want...you'll only get to choose from maybe 50-60 players. The jerseys are astonishingly great quality though...badges ALWAYS sewn on, sponsor logos are plastic about 75% of the time, and sewn-on felt/foam the rest of the time. I'm wearing an Arsenal alternate away jersey right now, in fact....the blue one with the weird criss-crossed lines all over it...#14 Henry. NO ONE can tell it's a fake...there's even a EPL tag on the inside. I paid about US$17 for it (including shipping).
The seller is honest, responds quickly, sends you a second jersey if something is wrong with your first one (this has happened twice...both times i was given a replacement jersey without even having to return the original). I have close to 30 jerseys from durapink, and i will be buying more!
The only real kits i buy are Crystal Palace kits, because fakes simply don't exist! I have the 2004 home kit, and i buy older kits whenever they appear on ebay.
EDIT: re: the post above mine...i really think Croatia should consider using their away kit as their home kit, and come up with a new away kit. Their current home kit makes me want to have a bloody seizure! The away kit is, as you said, very classy. The home kit is obnoxious at best.

Mikey 02-04-2004, 10:30:AM thats what i was hoping for, but i highly doubt that now. Ive bought from him before, an england jersey(for a friend). Not the greatest quality, but as ppl said 'got wat i paid for'. This time however, i got screwed.
Gerrard 17 02-04-2004, 10:34:AM I dunno man... You're the first one to have this problem, out of MANY people who bought it.
I say it's still worth risking that $25 or whatever. I don't care, I'm gonna order from him in the future anyway.
My hint to you, don't let this go! You were cheated, so you have every right to demand another jersey/refund. Keep emailing him until he responds, just don't be offensive, and don't do it like everyday. But you get my point. Email him every few days until you get a response.

Mikey 02-04-2004, 10:40:AM ive sent two emails. the fact that hes updated his site, prob means hell never respond. i used another email to ask him a question about another jersey, just to see if hes been on his email.
To that guy talking about durapink. Umm, those were pretty fake looking jerseys. heres a link to a milan one. I only looked at a couple though, so maybe he has better ones i didnt see.

What the **** is this? :D
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3623527763&category=20865
And none of them have the brands.... :crazyboy: I can get Jerseys like that for $5 in Poland.... (H)
jumbo 02-04-2004, 10:59:AM yo Mikey. I got the same exact jersey from Gimako and mine's all ****ty too.
i'ma try ebay.
IceBlu 02-04-2004, 11:04:AM i dunno.... my Juve jersey from Gimako was awesome. Just like the real thing.
worth the risk like Kader said.
Yeah, even the new Nike ones rock.
Claupa had pics before and they were sweet.
m3th0d 02-04-2004, 11:22:AM i bought nearly a dozen jerseys from gimako and they're all excellent quality.... maybe it's just that particular jersey that's crap? but then again why would he send you a pic of a real one and send you a fake one. it doesn't seem like sumthen he would do.
IceBlu 02-04-2004, 11:38:AM Mikey, send me a PM with your order number, your name etc . I'll have a word with the Gimako guy.
::Jason:: 02-04-2004, 11:52:AM (Y)
It sounds odd that the guy suddenly sent a crappy jersey, it well may have been a mistake, one he's not willing to fix.
Or he ran out of the actual milan-shirt, and had to buy one off the street. (prolly not too difficult for him out there..)
Jedi Mind Trick 02-04-2004, 11:54:AM yea i've never had any problems at all with gimako's ish. great stuff...too bad you got jipped though.
asesino 02-04-2004, 01:16:PM same here, I've bought over a dozen jerseys from him, and Im satisfied with every single one of them. Complaints like this make me laugh cause some people expect the jersey to be EXACT same as an official replica, you're only supposed to get 1/3 of the quality at gimako, so i dont know what you're complaining about. Some user here has bought from kitbag and gimako and he prefered Gimakos jersey over the one at kitbag.
and like method said " maybe it's just that particular jersey that's crap?" most of jerseys material is different from one.
also I'll ask this again, who has an official replica and a gimako jersey? if so would a normal joe tell the difference between them? If no then Gimako price is a steal.

oh man, those Faroe Islands shirts are ! :mrpimp:
and man, try to ask for a refund since its pretty much likely Milan will get new kits for next season
The 'Meriva' name on the jersey is only contracted to Milan till the end of this season
Btw, I actually recommended my friend to get a Gimako jersey after seeing all you lot so happy about it
My friend who is Milanista, most probably ordered a Milan one too.. Hopefully he didnt order it yet :(
birminghamfan2 02-04-2004, 08:29:PM guys i consider myself somewhat of an expert on buying "replica" jerseys from ebay. my friends and i over the past three years have bought probably over 150 jerseys from people in thailand. i think that is where gimako is from. he also used to sell on ebay. i have never bought from him but probably 85% of the jerseys we have bought we were very satisfied with. if anybody is interested i can post some links of people we buy from and are satisfied with. i am from the usa and it is pretty hard to find replica kits here and this has been a good way to buy them.;)
cheers!
Kulixs 02-04-2004, 08:49:PM I dont get it, real shrits are around £40 now. JJB sell the new England away kit for £25. Y buy fakes?
mega montana 02-04-2004, 08:55:PM i ordered a juve jersey from gimako and it was pretty sweet
the crest and logos were sewn on, they were very good quality
i didnt have a problem at all
like others have said, just email him saying the quality isnt the same as the other jerseys he has sold and you would like a discount or replacement

Y buy fakes?
There is no reason to, especially for us in England. The last 3 shirts i have bought have cost:
£24 for Chelsea home S/S (JJB, the weekend after it was released)
£30 for Chelsea away L/S
£28.95 new England away (preordered from theFA.com).
You can get genuine shirts from Official or trusted sources (JJB, thefa.com, chelseafc.com, kitbag etc) that you know won't mess you about or send you some cheap far-east piece of :f***: in England, so why bother risking buying a fake. It just isn't worth the hassle
Tricolore#20 03-04-2004, 01:24:AM I posted the pictures of my Juve 3rd shirt. It is outstanding quality, and when I compared it to the local shop, it was very similar in terms of material and badges and stuff.
I am surprised that you have had a bad experience. Definintely let him know about your displeasure, and he will compensate you.
Claupa, didnt you get a shirt for 50% off or something, because he sent you the wrong shirT? So definitely try and get something out out it.http://www.soccergaming.tv/attachment.php?s=&postid=1078650

yeah i got the juve home top when i ordered the third jersey instead.
he offered me to return him the jersey and he will send me the right one, or get another one and take 50% off from the total cost :) so i did that.
ill get the jersey in about 2 hours and ill post some pics

Ive got the official juve 3rd jersey and it looks exactly the same.
m3th0d 03-04-2004, 03:05:AM i believe most of gimako's jerseys are real. i say this because like i said before i've bought several jerseys from gimako in the past and i've compared them to some :drevil: official ones :drevil: and they look virtually identical. don't nike and adidas etc. have factories all around the far east? this guy probably works at one of these factories and just jacks 'em.............. that's my guess. :mrpimp:
if you don't wanna take the risk, don't fricken take it. i did many times, and i'm very happy and 100% satisfied with all my jerseys because all of them look real.. and best of all i got 'em all for dirt cheap.
i wanna see the picture of the milan jersey you ordered mickey.. cuz this kinda stuff rarely if not never happens.
WilliamFAlmeida 03-04-2004, 03:56:AM Gimako is usually good at returning this stuff if theyve messed up.
gimako's gear is as good as the real thing, everything is the same....it prolly comes from the nike and adidas factories, since they have some in thailand....either way, every jersey I ordered from them is EXACTLY the same as the real one. Which is why I believe that I have the actual real replicas.
Thelonious 03-04-2004, 04:04:AM I bought and England shirt and it is identical to the ones in the shop only it cost 6x less.

I got my Man Utd Home top at the start of the season with me name in EPL numbers and patches for 60 quid :(
Mikey 03-04-2004, 05:30:AM well, some good news for me at least. He said if i send him the jersey back (will cost me prob 10$ shipping), hell send me one with proper badges. By the time i ship it to him, he receives it and than sends mine, i prob wont receive mine for a month and a half. To ppl that say i should just buy an official, those are in uk pounds, when they convert to CDN $ there a lot more than you think.
and thanks Iceblu for your offer.
rony31 03-04-2004, 05:33:AM my dad ordered a Man City jersey from kitbag.com once... took less than a week but it did come up over $100 :S
Mikey 03-04-2004, 05:36:AM im not even complaining about the actual quality of the material. i can except that. When Italys new jersey is released, im gonna definately buy it from cheap online site that sells officials. I would never buy a cheap italian jersey, thats almost sacreligious.

Thats what I think too, and most people have said the same thing, THEY ARE identical to the real official ones, the sad thing is, some shops probably sell the so called "official" ones but they probably get them from gimako or some place similar where he gets them, yet they sell them at official prices

indeed, i mean WHO will know the jersey is a fake, if its identical to an official one, all you're really doing is spending more money for the word, "official".
Mikey 03-04-2004, 06:51:AM how many times to i have to tell you guys, it LOOKS fake, at my school at least, theres A LOT of ppl that watch and follow soccer. Im not questioning the facts you guys got quality, i guess i was just unlucky and got the one bad jersey.
Nimreitz 03-04-2004, 08:09:AM Just don't order ****; Gimako is ****.
At kitbag you can get an AC Milan Champions League jersey for under 40 UK Pounds. Not bad. If you want a name, it's 46. Just pay the extra 10 or 20 bucks, it's worth it.

i know what you mean about the screened on badges:( i bought a real figo home jersey from ebay about 2 weeks ago and when i got it it also had screened on badges. that was the first one out of about 150 over the last three years that had those. i was also very disappointed. like i said i will be glad to show you guys links to where we buy ours from and 85% of the time we have been 100% satisfied. in my opinion its worth it to take a risk if you like a bunch of teams/players. then maybe just buy the "official" one for the club you support most;)
here in the usa you can't get much but man u and real madrid!!!!

Tricolore#20 04-04-2004, 03:12:AM I want to get a new Czech Euro 2004 jersey, but only Subside seems to carry it. It will cost me over 120 CDN to buy one, so I might hold up.
