Juventus beat Rayo(I think they finnished first in the spanish league) 4-1 and Del piero scored one goal on open play and assisted on Kovacevic's goal .Could putting him in amc be suitable for Del Piero ?Ancellotti decide putting him on Amc cause he used to play in that position and was very succesfull ,but since he was changed as a forward ,he really went downhill,so i guess this would be good move for juve to put him as a AMC and letting guys like Trezeguet-Inzaghi or Trezeguet-Kovecevic or Kovacevic-Inzaghi play more often .Giovanni trappattoni(Italy's coach)is also considering putting him as a trequartista so that he can feed passes to both Vieri and any other italian strikers .This would also take pressure away from del piero cause he wont be expected to score more goals as a trequartista .
Just for the record, Rayo didn't finish 1st. Deportivo finished first with Barca, some team that I can't remember, Valencia and Real following. Anyway I remember when Zidane was suspended for a game last season and Del Piero fitted in quite nicely. So I'm pretty sure he'll do well (although I'm not particularly fond of the idea because I wan't my beloved Milan to win the scuddetto...and the Champion's League for that matter). Anyway, I was reading about him playing in that position for Italy but what will happen to Totti then?
del piero is king of being over-rated and over-paid.
Juve are really desperate to have him as an italian symbol. Even the italian national team want him to justify his salary.. tho he repetitedly dosent - i guess Italy arnt busting with great attacking players, so del piero looks ordinary in world class company.
i cudnt believe the CL final in 98 Real Madrid vs Juve del piero went to the ground at the slightest touch, how pathetic..he looks for soft fouls all the time ..wat a crap way to play the game.
i say give other players a chance to play in his position, del piero is a boring futebol player for my money anyway.
it's just weird that their finding WAYS to let these new FAKE MEDIA players play well but hardly giving a chance to the TRUE

i agree with you paolo, del piero if you ask me is more of a play maker, and can score, sorta like zidane, but not as good, but if you do play del piero as a amc where do you play zidane? also patrick vieira might be wearing a juve jersey in the near future.
In my opinion, Del Piero is still a striker to some extent, but for his good and for that of Italy, id like to see him play in the attacking midfielder role for Italy....that means that he can play with Totti and Vieri at the same time.....and he can find his way back into scoring goals from there.........i personally love watching Del Piero play in any role from attacking midfielder, to striker, cause even though he doesnt score as many goals, he still has that ability to change a game, even if it isnt him that puts the finishing touches on it as he once did.......

p.s. i wouldn't mind Patrick Vieira at juve.....at least he will get a fair go in italy.......at least in Italy, not every other player and ref in the country will be trying to get him sent off (as is the case in england)......and i also think he is a top midfielder.....sometimes loses concentration and the ball a bit too easily, but his runs from defence are simple awesome.......
p.p.s there is nothing stopping ancelotti from moving zizou back into the midfield and putting del piero just behind the two forwards (kovacevic and inzaghi/trezeguet)......even though Zidane is better attacking, i reckon he can still dictate the play from a bit further back
And anyway, ancelotti has said that he would only consider Del Piero in that role if Zidane was unavailable.....because its a long season, plenty of matches, Del Piero will probably have to play a few in that role anyway

It's probably BEST for DP to play playmaker, no.10, etc etc for Italy since he CAN'T score, so we won't be pissed off at him anymore when he misses a goal from 6 metres out, like he usually does, because we'll know that scoring is not his specialty, was it ever?
And Vieira will definitely not be wearing a Juve jersey this season, perhaps next season, but un-likely, he's very commited to Arsenal, and Pires is an extra reason to stay.
Daniel,Vieira has good chance to become a juve ,because of what i heard was that he a red or yellow card wich was too much and Bergkamp was unhappy with that .Secondly ,as for Zidane ,he can easily play central midfield ,he did that in the past and was good at it .If Vieira does come to Juve ,it wont affect Zidane or Del piero cause he is a defensive midfield ,so it wont be a big problem ,but it will be be for such players Tacchinardi and Conte .
before del piero got his injury that sidelined him for a year, he was a world class striker, for juve he led scoring he was a machine, but since and after the injury he hasnt scored very much obviously,

nothing against you daniel but when you did say "so we won't be pissed off at him anymore when he misses a goal from 6 metres out, like he usually does, because we'll know that scoring is not his specialty, was it ever?" do you know how many he has missed from 6 meters away, and how can you say that he cant SCORE before his injury he would put goals in the back of the net often and numerously, now all we have to do is give him time to regroup and become his old self, and yes scoring is his specialty. after euro everybody has just seemed to desert him and dont look back, but he did score to beat sweden which was a nice goal, but failed to score on chances against france, but in the upcoming serei A which starts oct 1, i expect that del piero will get off his ass and start playing great soccer
junhinio,I said Zidane can play as a central midfielder cause he already played in that position .As for Del Piero ,when he scored 20+ goals in one season ,he kind of shared his place meaning that some games he would be a amc and some he would be a striker .Anyways ,Zidane is gonna leave Juve .
