Makes sense even though I didn't think about it before. I guess I got spoiled with all the talent I had in Shalke and it just seemed like all the recruits sucked. Also I stopped scouting and buying players on my own because of the lack of money... stupid debt.
Been wrecking **** with a flat 4-4-2 at Atletico. Problem is that outside of the starting 11, the attackers aren't fit for that formation. I go from averaging 4 goals a game to having trouble creating chances with the 4-3-3.
When injuries hit, I get hit twice as hard cause I can't play my strongest formation.
Yeah, keep in mind that a 5 star rating means he's better than anyone else in the team, pretty much, so if you have great strikers, you won't get a 5 star ST youngster ever.
And also something that we've mentioned in the past, but "potential" is basically the computer adding up the attributes evenly, so if you train the guys to their position and strengths, they can probably get a half to a full star better than what the scout says.
And love the flat 4-4-2. Maybe it's always good and I just never played it to notice, but it is awesome in FM12.
Yeah, that dude is amazing. Always pops up on the box-to-box filter at the start of the game. I wonder what nation produces the most and best MCs (aside from England). Could be fun to run a 4-4-2 in Serbia or Austria.
I thought about starting a game with Basel, but Shaqiri has an arranged transfer on the update, and Xhaka and most of the other players are ridiculously underrated. This is a team that outplayed Manchester United over both Group Stage games! They had a great showing against Bayern, beating us in Switzerland too (and then lost like 7-0 in Bavaria, but that isn't important).
No I can't, because Shaqiri is coming to Bayern and Xhaka is going to Gladbach.
Good luck with your 4-4-2 game. It's a fun time, although my team and tactic is so good that I just plug and play now; a lot of the analysis and scouting has gone by the wayside.
Decided to finish out the season although it has been a disappointment. The only thing that has gone well is that I made another improvable run in the CL.
After winning my group and edging out Besiktas, I thought I was getting knocked out by Milan, but the team held tough.
Made it to the finals without actually winning a game.
Stuttgart looks very beatable, but at the moment I'm missing both my strikers, which was caused me some trouble. Hoping I'll get at least one of them back for the finals.
Edit: also I'm missing both CMs for the final due to too many yellows. Erg.
My striker duo ended up coming back just in time. Jose tied for the Pichichi with 26 goals despite missing the last 5 or 6 games. Balbiano has about 25 goals to his name, which is pretty good for a second striker. After that there isn't another player with double figures.
This time it was a lucky draw and great defense since without my goal scorers I was basically playing to away goals, which got me to the final.
Yeah!!!!
Since last year I missed out on the Club World Cup, I'm gonna try and win that. Most likely jumping ship after that, though.
Alright, so picked up FM13 and made a save with the Mexican NT. I'm doing pretty well, and I have solid depth, but holy shit there are tons of injuries. It hasn't even been a year but of the list of players that have been injured substantial periods of time.
Hector Herrera missed 3 months with a fractured ankle
Gio missed 5 weeks due to a severe ankle sprain
Torres Nilo is out of the confed due to a torn hamstring
Rafa Marquez is pretty much done because he broke his leg
Aldo De Nigris is also done for the year with a muscle tear
Marco Fabian is out 6-8 weeks with a severe hip injury
Angel Reyna was out 2 months, forget which injury
Andres Guardado was out 3 months from an ankle injury
