When I go to 'My Computer', the football comes up, showing that the disc is in the drive. But I cannot get the Auto-Run to function, and I cannot get it to run by using 'Run' d:/setup, either.
I brought it here to work and it was fine so the software is okay.
First try putting in A DIFFERENT DISC into your CD rom tray just to see if Autorun will work. Put in a music cd, anything, just to check if there is a problem with your cd rom. If you can't get autorun to work with a different cd then the problem is with your CD rom or something might be corrupt.
If you're running XP, perhaps you could go back to a restore point to where you knew your pc was running OK, no?
I thought of the restore point but I think I have it disabled.
I'll try another disc (AGAIN!) to see if it auto-runs. I was having issues with both my CD and CDR drives, last night. My PC was just hanging when I tried to start the disc and I got the old "my computer - no responding" message. There is something that's dragging my PC down, for sure. It was just crawling. I couldn't even restart from the 'Start' menu, or from the power button on the front. I literally had to unplug the PC and plug it back in.
I did a fresh XP Pro install about 3-4 weeks ago, which was a toal drag but needed to be done. I don't want to go through that crap again already.
