PES4 Graphics

my unit.

P4 2Ghz (Northwood)
1Gb DDR
80GB (Seagate Hard Drive)
GF4 TI4200 128Mb
Win XP Home
DX9c

Now I know that my GF4 card is getting of a bit, but I can still run flight sims like LOCK ON and PACIFIC FITHGERS with decent frame rate at good settings, but PES4?

If I go above 800 x 600 and Med Graphics, I get a shimmering effect or frame skipping? is that right? when players run they look as though they are vibrating and shots seem to go in stages, Im no techie but frame skipping I guess would give the game at times a keystone cop feel.

I was just wondering if anyone else who has a GF4 TI4200 128Mb (and or less than all of the above) has the same problems going over 800x600 or I get the same effect even if I stay at 800x600 but go for HIGH graphics?

The only way I can get it to run smoothly , is to set it at 800x600 MED.

My friend PC got the similar config with your PC, P4 2.4Ghz, 1Gb ram, GF4 Ti4200 128mb, sometime his PC will get video lag in some stadium (for example: Juventus stadium), so he turned down to 800x600 and Med quality, then the problem gone.

My PC P4 3Ghz, 1Gb ram, GFx 5900 128mb, run smoothly at 1024x768 High quality. TBH, yes higher resolution and quality will made the game looks much nicer, but I can't see a big different between my PC and my friend's PC, maybe I'm too concentrate while playing the game :P

Btw, I found that if you turn on 2x Anisotropic Filtering, the game looks much better, hope that help

It's all because of Konami's poor PC programming. If they actually made PES from scratch for the PC they could enable PES to run on max resolution on your PC.

Well I just played a game of PES3 there!

And the stadium and players looked just as good if not a bit better than in PES4, yet the setting I had in PES3, the one I had used all last year..

1280 x 1024 HIGH GRAPHIC's setting.

And both PES3 and 4 are ports of the PS2 game...

So why the BIG difference in PES4 where I can only get 800x600 MED if I want the game to run smoothly as it did in PES3 but there I had 1280 x 1024 HIGH?

And all the same kit in my PC

try to overclock your video card. i have an ATI radeon 9600 pro, and i had many slowdowns, in cinematics, in 1024x768 HiGH. After i overclocked it, game runs perfectly. i used to overcloked it Rage3DTweak.

I know it will be my video card that is the let down on my system.

All I was wondering was why? , PES3 ran at HIGH and 1280 x 1024 and PES4 if I put it above 800 x 600 or put it to HIGH graphic I get this frame skipping.

There doesn't seem to be much difference in the 2 games, either to the players or the stadiums, in fact player wise the players in PEs3 I think look better , not only that there hair moved in PES3, the stadiums look about the same..

Can anyone tell me why there is such a big difference between the 2 games, why does my video card handle 3 much better than 4.

overclocking can boost your video card's performance but unless u r confident that yer card has a good cooling system do not over-overclock yer video card....if it gets damaged you cannot trade it back or RMA it......i would say if you have a GF4 Ti u should slowly(2MHz at a time) overclock it using Powerstrip or Riva Tuner(search google)......
