The NHL Hockey 05/06 Thread

The season has started today (October 5) and hockey's finally back with a bunch of new rules to create more offense like smaller goalie equipment, allowing 2 line passes, no tolerance on obstruction, etc. This is going to be one of the most exciting seasons yet since it'll be the most competitive and offensive hopefully. There are at least 18 teams that can win it.

Games are gonna be on TSN, Rogers Sportsnet, OLN, RDS, Comcast, CBC, NBC, and a lot of regional stations like Fox Sports Network stations across the states.

NHL.com has all the hockey resources and http://msn.foxsports.com/nhl
For schedules, go to:
http://www.nhl.com/schedules/index.html
stats are at:
http://www.nhl.com/nhlstats/stats?se...e&context=Home

Any more resources would be appreciated.

The Leafs moved the St. John's team over to Toronto. They're playing at the Ricoh Colliseum now.

And the Leafs were handling the Sens. If Sundin wasn't injured then they would've won.

O'Neil ran into the net in the Sens game and injured his shoulder. It's a minor injury tho, maybe 1 game or none.

Btw did you guys see Sundin's eye on the papers today. It's gross.

Yzerman's blood shot eye was grosser.

Bruins suck, Penguins are overrated just because they signed a few guys and they probably won't even make the playoffs, Panthers have gotten two wins now, and here's the scary thing about them-they aren't even close to filling their salary cap, their salary is like 24 million.

San Jose also isn't close to their limit and I picked them to do pretty well but their 0-2.

Habs have gotten two wins in a row on the road, even if they were against crap teams.

And most of all, Hockey Night In Canada is back! Back to seeing good old Ron Maclean looking classy, Hrudy making obvious comments, the familiar voice of Harry Neil, and Don Cherry predicting that the winner of every award will be a player on a Canadian team (oh wait, he's already done that).

Can't wait to see Vancouver and Edmonton play tonight though.

well through 2 games, I can confirm 2 things about the Leafs:

1) They're the slowest and sloppiest team in the league.
2) They cant hold a ****in lead for more than a minute

very entertaining game tonight against the Habs, but again, we come out short Steen got his first NHL goal, though, so some good news, I guess

I saw that game. It was a entertaiment match.

Toronto´s Coach had a Eye Shoot in the Preseason, too?

the new NHL sucks ass. every ****in bump is a penalty. go **** yourself, America, you ruined a perfectly good league with your cries for more goals

plus, the Leafs suck now... 2 penalty shootout losses... man, PRACTICE Quinn, and never put Jasin Allison on again... he was good for the first half of the 1st Sens game, sucked ass in every shift since then

Shut up rony if anything we've made it better. I've actually watched almost entire periods of games this year because they're just more entertaining then they were before.

Ive seen some weak calls. There's less hitting, but the game is a lot more entertaining than in the past.

I give it a thumbs up so far.
