Installation Error.

Hi, When I try to install Fifa 07 (or any other ea game i believe, like fifa manager 07, tiger woods pga 07) etc. I get to about 35% and get the Support\European Help Files\*-* error.

It doesn't seem to be a specific file in there just the whole european help file has the error. I've tried re-installing Installshield, directx, everything i can think of. I've even tried googling for a the whole folder to download, but obviously no luck on finding the file. I've been stuck with this for about a week and i want to play Fifa manager

lol, or fifa 07.

I noticed someone also posted this a while back but didn't get any replies. I didn't know whether people just didn't know how to help or just didn't care so i thought i'd re-ask the question. Any help would be EXTREMELY appreciated.

And just to clarify, its almost always stopping on 35%

try to copy the files manually off of the cd and then try to install from your computer.

Nope, done that...seems to get stuck on random files. I've just realised i have The sims on here so i might be able to use the files..Lmao jk..Hopefully a friend of mine has the CD..

is your disc damaged in any way?

Nope, None of the disks are damaged, infact the PGA is completely brand new, It seems like a problem installing EA games.

Nope, got a steam run game on my comp now, But unfortunately the 3 games i want to play (fifa07, FM07, PGA07) are all EA

im the lucky one lmao.

I'm thinking maybe the CD/DVD reader isnt fast enough to read the cd's? as I said this is my sis's comp and if anything i think that the comp is the problem. I have 2 cd drves but i cant figure out how to make the secndary cd reader my primary one lmao.

Try Setting your CD/DVD drive to DMA mode:

To enable DMA mode using the Device Manager

1. Open Device Manager.

2. Double-click IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers to display the list of controllers and channels.

3. Right-click the icon for the channel to which the device is connected, select Properties, and then click the Advanced Settings tab.

4. In the Current Transfer Mode drop-down box, select DMA if Available if the current setting is "PIO Only."
If the drop-down box already shows "DMA if Available" but the current transfer mode is PIO, then the user must toggle the settings. That is:

• Change the selection from "DMA if available" to PIO only, and click OK.

• Then repeat the steps above to change the selection to DMA if Available.

5. If you can't set the transfer mode to DMA, simply "uninstall" the channel and reboot. Windows will "find" the new channel with the "New Hardware Found" process and set it to DMA.

I've just got round to trying your suggestion platini. I originally thought that me doing everything you told me to do was working when i was trying to install FIFA 07. (I have a habit of leaving the install running and going somehere else in the house so i don't have to watch the install..supersition i suppose lol) unluckily i seemed to have came back into the room as it had reached 35% and It did it again. Maybe im unlucky and the game and computer are fine

..Lol no, Thanx for the suggestion platini but i still think it's the CD speed, I'll keep you updated if i find anything else...Anymore suggestions will be appreciated

Have you tried the desktop install after you've updated the ide channels?

I am facing exactly the same problem that u r facing!
I googled a lot to find out solutions for this problem but to no avail

I installed EA sports CRicket 2007 and everything worked fine.
So,no idea what's the problem with this one !

Please let me know if anyone knows how to fix this .Thanks!
