PES thoughts and questions for the experts

Well... I'm new in the forums, but I have been playing the PES series since PES4. I only have the PC version and I'm a weird guy, I play it from the keyboard. I simply can't use pads because I'm "left handed" player, I can't control the directions with my left hand. Same thing with the arcade games, I always operated the joystick with my right. Maybe it's some kind of brain damage, dunno... :mexican:

I think PES5 is the best version. I have the "Legends Patch" that I once found from this forum. I have been playing it religiously and made lots of changes to the team rosters... mainly to get the Italy 1990 World Cup teams there. Everybody keep saying how much the 1990 world cup sucked, but for some strange reason I have a heavy connection to that...that world cup being the first one I ever witnessed. Many teams had such brilliance back then... Roger Milla, Claudio Caniggia, Carlos Valderrama, Diego Maradona, Paul Gascoine, young Roberto Baggio, etc. etc. Ahh...memories. Yes, the final game sucked but overall I thought the tournament had some insanely good matches.

Now to the question: How can I save all the changed data from my edited rosters? What files I should separate and archive if I want to add all those changes to a clean install? I tried to write all files from the /dat folder (those .afs files) but it didn't work. Does the game write something in the registry that should be separated? I'm sorry if this question has been asked many times...I tried a search but didn't find anything that would make it clear to me.

I love the game. I mainly still play PES5 because I'm most comfortable with it. PES6 didn't really bring much new features on the table... although I bought that too.

The biggest turn off in the PES for me are the penalties. They're completely random and the shootout goes too fast. In real football games penalty shootout is always very tense and delicate moment. There's a lot of suspense, thrill and excitement in that...unfortunately the penalty shootout in PES can't capture anything from that. I would love to see more animations, a replay after every shot... and ability to _really_ use your skill (and your player's skills) in the shootout. There could be a power bar, aiming cursor and some sort of variation what kind of shots you're able to take. I dunno if they're planning to do any improvements though. Other than that...I think the game is brilliant. Can't really get enough of it.

Perhaps this should have been posted to the introduction board. Anyway... I'm looking forward to general football and PES talk with you guys.
