Soccer Gaming Announcement

As I'm sure registered members of the forums will be aware, yesterday Soccer Gaming took the previously unprecedented step of removing and banning a moderator from our forums. Elwyn Peters, alias 'uuh... I don't know?' had previously been a moderator of two forums at Soccer Gaming, and has left our team following an unacceptable breach of Soccer Gaming's Forum Rules regarding incitement of racial hatred.

We would like to apologise sincerely to every single person registered on these forums for Elwyn's behaviour in this matter, and we would also like to apologise for our apparent inactivity over this matter until this point. It is our policy to deal quickly and effectively with breaches of our forum rules, and would like to remind all users of our forums that if they cannot abide by these guidelines, we will have no choice but to ban them from using them.

Once again, we would like to apologise unreservedly to all forum members, and remind them that, despite our removal of this one trouble maker, we still have more than 7,200 decent, reasonable forum members who help to make Soccer Gaming's Forums some of the most successful on the 'net.

well, I am glad the action has been taken.

But what stops that person from returning, and continueing to breach the rules?

Admittedly, it can’t match alcohol as a potentially life-destroying depressant that causes more violence and anti-social behaviour in this country than cocaine and heroin combined. But it’s worse than any of these things. It’s mentally addictive!

Mentally addictive. Savour the succulent stupidity for a moment. No, that’s unfair. Mental addiction is a truly terrible blight, engulfing every pleasurable product imaginable. Chocolate, the scourge of childhood, nutritionally useless but often constantly consumed for entire lifetimes. Decent computer games, brazenly advertised and reviewed with the very word. Who hasn’t had whole mornings of mental addiction to sleep? I saw someone on a website telling us solemnly how people in his parents’ generation “STILL take marijuana - just because.” Because they enjoy it, maybe? Because it hasn’t killed them already like tobacco or alcohol would have done?

Marijuana isn’t addictive. It doesn’t hurt you. There’s less reason to ban it than tobacco or alcohol; if every pub in Britain was replaced with an Amsterdam coffee bar, many fewer people would be beaten up, choke to death on their own vomit, or die slowly from cirrhosis of the liver. Persecuting marijuana use results only in pointlessly ruined lives. The police know that, and don’t want to waste their time handing out cautions to people who know even better than they do how stupid they’re being. Neither do the hall tutors who ask the students to take the dope outside so they don’t have to deal with it.

We have our ways. I would just like to remind everyone that action had already took place over 24 hours ago (before the Neutral leaving posts, etc), it seemed people failed to realize the things that were going on with 1 on 1 talks and other means of punishment for his behavior.

philler,

banning i.p.s does not work

because your i.p. drasticly changes everytime you connect if you are using ISP's like AOL, BTinternet, NTL or another very large ISP.

Well I say good riddance to that uuuuuuh fellow, he was always looking for a fight, that boy needs some serious therapy if you ask me.
About the IP-numbers: there is a lot of software available nowadays where you can shield your number with or the last octets and no-one will know your IP-address.
This is not a tip but the truth..

anyways, I missed what happened there (I don't stay in these boards for 24 hours a day).. What was it? Just "old-school" cussing by some freak? And NEutral left because of that? JUST because of that?

and about the IP's.. I once found a website that gave this "service" to the clients; through the site you could change your IP and go on the websites you are banned from.. HOw exactly that worked, I didn't get into that...
