Malouda has simply aged, he was great for a while there, but I don't think we can expect much more of him. His dribbling and playing style was based on strength and acceleration, so it's understandable. Kalou has never reached the level his early talent promised. I've discussed Kalou a lot over the last 2 seasons, he really does have everything but a footballing brain. Strength, speed, dribbling, passing, heading, leap, finishing, but he makes the most god awful decisions if given time on the ball. How many times has he dribbled the ball over the line? Still, he's a good backup player, I'd keep him for another year, but it seems that he's asking for too much money.
Same with Drogs. Letting him go is a risk the club seems willing to take, they just don't want to tie him up to a 2-year deal on such hige wages. Shame, but he'll have to leave at some point.
Its just hours before the Champions League final starts.
Chelsea can do this. For me is 50/50. Bayern kind of have this advantage of playing at home. But the quantity of fans for both teams will be the same. So we need our Chelsea fans singing and giving support to the team.
With Drogba, Mata and Lampard we can create some serious opportunities.
I have this feeling about Torres. Is like I just had a dream about it. That he will be important in this match. I don't think he will start the match. But maybe he will enter as a substitute.
If Cahill and Luiz play. Then Bosingwa as right back and Cole as left back.
In the midfield i would like Mikel, Lampard and Essien. This, based on the latest big games: Two with Barcelona and one with Liverpool. In those 3 games we played Mikel, Lampard, Meireles. So i'm thinking Essien could do Meireles job.
And in front, Mata, Drogba and i would put Sturridge. But i think Roberto will put Kalou instead of Sturridge.
Nah: Cech, Jose, Cahill, Luiz, Cole, Mikel, Lamps, Mata, Kalou, Torres, Drogba would be my pick right now. Maybe Sturridge over Torres, I'm unsure about that one. Butthat line-up just makes the most sense across the board for me, and it's the formation RDM likes. The Barcelona match is not comparable to any other, we needed that formation to fight them, we don't need that against Bayern.
Torres against Contento might yield us as much luck as Ribery against Jose will yield them.
But the quantity of fans for both teams will be the same.
I keep hearing this, but surely the Bayern fans are going to get most of the neutral seats. The club targeted this season to peak in order to play this game at home, and if there's any way to buy tickets in advance (there must be), then those would have gone almost exclusively to Bayern fans taking a chance. And hell, when you're local, you can always go down to the stadium on matchday and sell them if your team doesn't make it. Not to mention, at least in American sports, and I assume it's the same here, a large portion of the tickets in these big neutral venues are reserved to local walk up sales as a gesture of goodwill to the host city.
Reports are that we've signed Hazard, others that it's ManU, others that it's City. Apparently he'll announce the final decision and end this circus after Lille's final match tonight. Regarding the Chelsea reports, Hazard says he wants guaranteed playing time, so we make the most sense in regards to both Manchester clubs.
And holy **** we're European Champions!
There's also some nasty Ramires to Madrid rumours, but **** that, we're European champions!
