sidewinder problem

help!

i have a MS Sidewinder Game Pad Pro (US, and i can't get my FIFA to work! it recoginzes the pad, lets me select my side and then once you hit next to start the game it crashes. just boots me back to the desktop....any suggestions?

does this happen w/o if you use the keyboard instead of the controller?

i havent tried using the keyboard yet....ill do that and get back to you.

well, i got the game to work with the pad by uninstalling and reinstalling FIFA and the pad. but now the button mappings are all wrong even though they are listed as what they should be in the controller options screen in the game.

any suggestions?

in windows, make sure you calibrate your controller in control panel > gaming options.

then in the game, manually set the buttons in the options menu.

tried that, still no luck. its as though the button assignments arent loaded when the game starts. no matter what button i assign what function, they still dont work the way i assign them in the game.

help! will EA never fix the controller issues?
