what is it with EA and FIFA?

I've been wondering something.

If we all hate the ball sticking to the players’ feet, then why do EA put it in FIFA?

They are either ignorant or stupid

I'll go with stupid, cause if they've played Pro Evolution Soccer, then why would they do things like this?

You all know what I hate about the game, the headers, the easy shooting, you all know it yourself that if you have any sense the game is pratically identical to FIFA 2002.

I copied the ini data required from 2002 FIFA World Cup into FIFA 2002 and if I had just put in the new tackling, I swear the games would almost be the same gameplay wise, that's all EA have really done here, EDITED AN INI!!!!

Everything is graphics to them!!

If a lot of people here think it, then they should tell me, not you, I haven't seen anything about me slagging off FIFA in these forums.

Though I can assure you I do!

I get mad, yep, I'm a pissed of FIFA player and not just that but a pissed of gamer overall, as EA have ruined by enjoyment of games. I mean, come on, this has got to be the best science fiction game, now that I want to play a Star Wars game, I'm forced to play 2002 FIFA World Cup!!

I can assure you I don't and never intend on playing a Star Wars Game!!!!

and yes I know EA sucks sometimes, but just try to think like an entrepeneur, and that's why the included the Star Wars' sounds.... cause they want to get non-football gamers to play the game...

anyways, we already know EA sucks, you don't need to remind us :P

I think he is just really passionate about Football games, and desperately wants a perfect game.
I know exactly how you feel Nick, but I think you need to try to accept that EA are just crap, and dont have what it takes to make a great footie game.
Maybe some of us in the community should learn how to program and stuff, then make our own game.

I have not visit this forum in a while and it seems nothing has changed. This forum is always full of editors posting their works. Seems like FIFA is nothing but a media for people who likes to edit things. I wonder how many people here actually spent more time playing then editing. But seriously, if people like Nick doesn't voice their opinions about FIFA, then how do you guys think EA will ever change. Some of you guys here are just too content on letting EA do whatever they want. They can do minor tweaks in the graphics and add a new feature, and you are satisfied with it. Yes, it looks like Nick is a whiner but he has a point. But I do think that sometimes his passion for the perfect footie game gets the best of him. Sorry to tell you this Nick, you are not going to get it with FIFA. FIFA targets a broad audience. Hardcore fans or FIFA veteran will always be disappointed because the gameplay is not going to be real. I do accept that FIFA has an arcade element to it but I can't accept moronic bugs such as the drunking style tackling,superheaders,and silly GK AI. Yes, when you try to tackle someone from behind you shouldn't stumbled like a drunk but instead get a yellow card if you tripped the player you are tackling or just missed the tackled completely. These are the annoying things along with the whole circus atmosphere of the WC demo. Just look at these videos below and you will see how a real footie play. Look at how the players actually dribble the ball. The ball is not stuck to their foot. THis is by no means the perfect footie but unlike the FIFA series, each game in the series gets better with improvements. I do like the fact that WC2002 is a step in the right direction in the gameplay department but it is still way behind PES.

gotta agree wif vinh there....sumtimes i DO feel that nick's a

blurdy pain in the posterior every time i see his 'i hate fifa' posts...

BUT i totally agree with his views...however much i cringe at the

sheer volume of his p'protest posts'

but seriously..i owe a heck of a lot to nick...i had put away my

fifa2k2 for eternity...or so i thought....until i used his edited

gameplay patch...i am not one of those super players who win

at world class or even professional mode...but i enjoyed the

game SO MUCH more with his patches that i became addicted to it

granted i dunno how other footie games actually fare,but i do still

know EA's got a long way to go in terms of soccer realism,(but

hey,i wont repeat that). so here i say,NICK take a bow, EA owes u

a heck of a lot, for without u and all the other editors out there,

thered be none left playing EA's pathetic attempt at soccer

games...i really feel we havent really always showed our deepfelt

appreciation to all the editors in the FIFA community,so here goes

Nick Clubman is just an honest gamer who wants a company with EA's revenue to give a crap about their target audience. If we never complained nothing would ever be changed. We have to assume (out of blind hope) that some of our feedback will reach EA and that's why we need a large volume of it, to make some waves.

I love to play soccer games and without people making patches for Fifa titles, the game would have a useful life of about six months. Nick has done more than his fair share of improving the game for other users despite his gripes about the game.

I'd rather have 50 moaners like Nick making a difference than somebody moaning about moaners doing freak all to make the game better for us.

you're a changed man. I haven't posted here in months, and I find mr. I loveFIFA himself slagging EA's sim repeadedly.

For those that don't know clubman, he used to be a FIFA diehard and had arguments with us PES boys over FIFA nd that it is good.

But now, congratulations to him for seeing the light.

Yep, I can be a pain in the ass, bit hey, it's like Tristan said, I want to be heard, that's obvious.

I must say sorry to all the people I've pissed off with these posts, don't mean to 'piss' you guys off, only to make EA see my thread and realise that no one likes their game, I'd like to see them go down now!!!

Pro Evolution Soccer is the closest to football in a football game, not like 2002 FIFA World Cup which is closest to Star Wars in a football game!!!

ARCADE FOOTBALL IS OK IF IT'S FUN, BUT 2002 FIFA WORLD CUP IS BORING!!!
