It's also much easier if you learn how to use Excel. Example: If you know how to add new rows to the table, you can just add a new row at the top instead of having to scroll down to the bottom every time. Also, before you start editing, save the table as a Excel template file; that way it will re-open every time to where you left off. Just make sure you save your saves each time as Unicode files, not Excel files. The db only reads Unicode files.

you mean that you can copy any player and change only the id on the hidden? but as for the remaining values, they will not match this player
Of course you have to edit/change things like his/her name etc. I am giving you the VERY QUICK overview, so that you know the easiest way to create a player, in order to get you started. Again, do what I said, then test it in-game. Don't start trying to change all their values at once, you want to first learn how to just add players, simply and easily.

To anyone thinking of responding to this fellow: I spent a week explaining to him how to add players to the db. I posted links to tools and a tutorial, I posted several detailed sets of editing instructions for him, and I answered his questions. In the end, when I explained that he in fact had to do the editing work himself -- all the detailed stuff like editing each individual player's name and height and weight and abilities -- he stated that he is too busy to do all that work.
He has posted a list of 100+ players he wants added to the game. That's what he wants: he wants someone to add those players for him because he is too busy. I'm telling you all this just so you know, before you choose to engage. Call it a friendly forewarning from someone who has learned.

I noticed that you mentioned about changing the FIFA 17 converter to 18.. Can you possibly talk through that?
Ive made a few changes to a database, but the converter is just stating that 'no database to convert'.
Sure. Moddingway's (fantastic) FIFA 17 Squads Converter has a squads1 file and a squadsdefault file. Both are 4,159 KB in size. Copy your latest FIFA 18 squads save file to your desktop (located Docs/FIFA 18/settings), and make a second copy as well. Name one copy squads1 and the other squadsdefault. Both should be 4,871 KB in size. Replace the two files in Moddingway's (fantastic) FIFA 17 Squads Converter, with the two FIFA 18 files you just copied and renamed. You should be good to go now.
BTW: I did test FIFA 18 db table exporting, importing, editing and converting, and it worked fine. But I don't have the game so I can't check to make sure it works in-game. I did though convert someone's db files using Moddingway's (fantastic) FIFA 17 Converted To FIFA 18 Squads Converter, and he said the file I created for him, loaded and worked in-game.
Also, be aware the converted tables may contain dozens and hundreds of bogus table values that will need to be deleted by hand, one table at a time. Example: you may not be able to create players in-game because the create-player limit has been reached (100+ GKs rated 0). You will have to go into the players table and teamplayerlinks tables, and delete those 0 value players. The same applies to probably two dozen other tables, you'll have to check them all.

Thanks for the explanation, but unfortunately my folder of the converter only has the squadsdefault file.
I tried replacing this anyway but the converter just said the same thing. Any further suggestions?
I believe I have cleaned up a lot of the table as you mentioned, as Ive been reading these forums and the moddingways ones about this sort of mod. Just struggling to get it to convert so I can test.
You have to create the two files yourself, using your squads save file as a base. Copy your squads save file, make two copies, and rename them squads1 and squadsdefault. Then add them to the Converter folder (and remove the FIFA 17 files of the same name).

I have pulled the original squad file from the folder and changed this but this still has not worked.. Just keeps saying that 'no database to extract'..
So the files are just showing 'files' in the description but with the correct size of file as what you described.
You may also have to search for and reload the squads1 file using the Browse For Squads File function in the Converter. That is one fix for the error message you described.
