Damn, with the last patch EA has made it worse, I can no longer find the feeling of your ball physics with the old patches, with the 1.03 and your local of 30/10 was perfect !!!

Now everything has changed ...:f***:

Paul, you play with the 1.06 patch? Were you able to find a good compromise?

It has just occurred to me that all mods should do is try and mod the fifa18.exe file or any that are patched for game play updates. Incredible how those idiots at EA can make the game worse with each patch. I think that they are under the delusion that they need to keep people hooked by making it harder (and more unrealistic) to play. Instead they are driving people away.

Well, I don't "play" the game so to speak, I manage through CM and use Aranku's cheat table to select CPU vs CPU matches. The only annoying thing is that the game thinks it's a normal CPU vs CPU exhibition match so will control substitutions of both teams. This can be troublesome when I'm playing players out of positions or trying out youngsters.

But, I'm enjoying it. It's wonderful to see your real time tactics play out on the pitch, players finding pockets of space just behind the midfielders etc.

If I can find a way to disable home or away substitutions depending on which way I'm playing, I'll be a happy man. For now though, it's bearable.

How do you use his tool to play cpu v cpu in CM?

Hey Paul, any chance of making another original ini based on the current patched exe? They have really screwed the game...your original ini 23/9 doesn't have the same effect, for example they have made it impossible to score more than two goals a game it seems to me. The cpu if if it is losing 2-0, it scores one goal but then sits back!!!

You should just do what I do and lock yourself to one player (create yourself in the game or something). At least then you will keep the sub selection and the team will still play as you've set out.

I thought about doing that before I started but I was going for the ultimate managerial experience. I know FIFA isn't made for that but the engine is beautiful and the tools were there (Cheat table) to do this. I've spoken to the developer and he says he'll look into disabling home and away substitutions and tactical changes in January. This is progress so if we get this new version then I will be a happy man.

I'm wondering though Paul, is this GP save game compatible? I'd like to use it in my current career. Currently 7th with Port Vale with a shocking team so I'd like to see this season out.

yes it is. if it only uses an ini file then the GP is fine to use with saves.

Did this patch or any patch fix the dribbling system of FIFA 18? Where smaller player outstrength strong players and where dribbling with Hazard, Neymar and Messi feels slow and unresponsive and where all defenders are prime Maldinis? Where you get magnetic tackling and get shrugged of easily? I find myself enjoying FIFA 17 more due to those issues.

Just wanted to stop by and say thanks for your efforts on this mod paul2kv4, it's appreciated.

I think I've found a nice balance of difficulty by using your mod with the goalkeeper changes removed, the Operation Sports sliders, slow gameplay and Legendary difficulty.

I'll play some more of my current career mode (Fleetwood Town in League One, COD ARMY!) and report back. So far so good though.

Hi beta.

I am pretty certain they do not work in the INI and only work within the initfs file. I will be removing them from my next release.

FYI. I took them from the initfs.

Just uploaded a new Nightly.

Just played a game with my latest attempt.



This game was in the FA Cup vs. Leicester City (I am mid-table in League 1 atm.) and I was beaten within the first 10 mins until I changed tactic to something more defensive. This is exactly what I was looking for. Bigger teams dominating smaller teams and forcing you to change tactic to fix it. Another big thing is that it looks like I've managed to reintroduce dribbling by the AI once again! No more tika taka. Yay.
