Kazan Arena, FIFA 2018 WORLD CUP
Hi, everyone! Today I release Kazan Arena, switch version. It's three times lighter than the version I converted some time ago. I'm releasing two versions. One WC and one Rubin's (I know that Rubin doesn't currently play on it, but still).
WC version - I didn't play too much with the crowd and the dressing for various reasons. This version doesn't have tournament mesh, so the dressing is the original EA one. I just recolored the host city name.
Rubin's version - For this version I slightly changed the away crowd. It's positioned in the same place, but it's reduced. Removed the flags on the roof. Removed the host city name adboard and changed it with digital ones. Created a whole new tournament mesh so it now supports tournament dressing. I created a separate specifictournament.rx3 file which you have to put in Game/data/sceneassets/tournament. This way you will see Rubin's dedicated stadium dressing.
I recommend not mix up the different versions stadium model and texture files. Each stadium model works only with it's originally packed rx3 texture files.
I'll be releasing very occasionally these stadiums, so please no meanless requests. It's a slow work, because the stadiums models are heavy. The process is slow and the exporting takes ages.

Thank you for such dedicated and detailed work!
I was there at Kazan Arena in 2018 (GER vs KOR) and this really brings back memories!

One thing I'd like to mention (hoping it's not meaningless) is the corner sector exit covers.
I mentioned it once here
Awesome to see Samara!

@gonzaga @BosnaZmajevi @kotiara6863 @RobbieD_PL @RavenFCB @Endrio and anyone else working with stadiums,
Please note that all WC2018 host cities have their unique identity designs. You can see them in FIFA18 WC DLC loading screens and in HD here:
http://russiatrek.org/blog/travel/top-sights-in-fifa-world-cup-cities-in-russia/
http://welcome2018.com/en/journal/materials/world_cup_2018_host_cities_get_unique_identities_/

Which includes distinctive corner sector dressings.
If it was possible to incorporate those, that would be amazing!

Examples:
Nizhny Novgorod. Uruguay vs France

Sochi. Uruguay vs Portugal.

Moscow Spartak. Colombia vs England

St. Petersburg. Brazil vs Costa Rica.
And now that you are taking a second look at WC2018 stadiums, maybe it'd be possible to have a separate texture for those areas.

If I understand correctly currently the WC2018 logo is used both for the big corner area and for the smaller areas around the stadium as well:

If the corner area had its own texture, we could possibly recreate the real design (maybe if not you, someone else would try, maybe me, but there would be a possibility):

Which is this building

Also speaking of stadium dressing, I really loved it how you used a more realistic custom WC2018 dressing (light blue at the bottom, red and blue at the top + #worldcup) in some of your previous WC2018 releases:

over default blue dressing that EA made for their DLC before the rournament started:

A suggestion even if not for Kazan anymore then for other WC2018 stadiums that might follow :)

If I recolor the dark blue texture to light blue it will affect the exits you want to change the branding. They are part of the whole mesh that is all around the stands
New Picture.jpg

Same thing applies for the branding you want to put on top of the ground exits. It's the world cup logo that has to be changed, but these meshes are part of one objects that also covers the benches with the wc logo. Yes, I can split them into two separate objects, but I don't have those texures you refere to.
The main dressing - I unfortunately deleted my old blend file and my dressing is lost. I can recover it from the stadium files, but not sure it will fit the model. It's the same structure, but I don't know which meshes I have to delete from one model so the could not interfere with the mew added meshes. It's a tricky work.
Everything you want can be done, but requires more time and to make one test I have to wait more than an hour to export the model and textures. I don't promise anything for now.

I see. Thanks for the insight.

Yes, I can split them into two separate objects, but I don't have those texures you refere to.
That would be awesome. Even if at first it would be just duplicated WC logos, with an ability to replace the exit one with city specific design.
Here I came up with this schematic sketch-up in about 20 minutes, I'm sure someone who at least uses photoshop unlike me could do much better, but just for show:

The main dressing also would be sweet to have indeed with these red-to-blue transitions which I believe can be recreated as well

I don't promise anything for now.
Yeah I understand. Maybe with Kazan or maybe with some other stadium, just sharing some ideas.

@gonzaga convert the Luzhniki version from switch... I think the one that we have as Switch Version it's not switch version.

Besides... what is the Saint Petersburg version with WC dressing?

What version it's better?

@gonzaga friend... the kazan arena doesn't have an exterior panel? I'm talking about the corners of the stadium... I can see the outside. The stadium on switch doesn't have that big panel on the outside.

What version is Luzhniki then? Saint-Petersburg is a switch version.
What version it's better?

Try them both and you'll see for yourself. To me the switch one is better of course. It has real night version.

I only convert the stadiums. I don't make them, my freind.

@gonzaga so the Kazan Arena from switch doesn't have that? it's not a problem...

Where I can find the Saint Petersburg stadium with the WC dressing? I only have it with normal dressing, like Gazprom.

The switch Luzhniki it's the same like the first Luzhniki that you posted... I don't know it is from switch.

Ok, I recreated my earlier dressing and here is how it looks. Also changed the tone of the ground dressing, but I think it needs more work. If you can create those entrance city dedicated banners would be awesome. They have to be transparent. I'm planning to implement one very cool feauture in these WC stadium - the matchday country flags that hang under the roofs. I saw this in the Brazilian WC stadiums. I would like to use the flag meshes from there.

@gonzaga will you convert the 12 WC 18 stadium from switch right? I hope the stadiums like Nizhny Novgorod and Volgograd don't exceed the limit of the crowd fix...

This is awesome news!

I'll give it my best non-photoshop efforts :D Starting with Kazan, which city would you need next? Also in what resolution, 1024x1024?
And are you sure about transparent? If the ground dressing is light blue, the host city design will be applied on top of a light blue background, no? Unlesss you split the meshes and the corner entrances have a separate dark blue texture.
Otherwise, if we do the host city designs with dark blue background like I posted above, they will cover up the light blue base.

I'm planning to implement one very cool feauture in these WC stadium - the matchday country flags that hang under the roofs. I saw this in the Brazilian WC stadiums.
This is a great idea and something I really wanted too. But be aware that those matchday flags are basically top left banners from the playing teams' banner.rx3.
So one would have to make sure that the top left team banner is a plain flag and not some image/slogan/fan cluib logo one.
Personally I liked this feature so much I edited the 32 WC2014 teams' banners to have plain top left country flags and I don't see a problem replicating it here!

Also speaking of the new dressing, how about we add this Faberge egg transition from red panes to blue ones instead of a straight vertical division?

Here is an example using the first Faberge egg graphic I found online, maybe it could work when scaled down in game (will send you the egg png if needed):

________________

And finally, Confederations Cup version with the Zabivaka dog maybe? To complete the full package.
Probably won't be a difficult redressing task for any enthusiast, but maybe you'd want to release it officially.

I would use 512x512 image for the ground entrance panels.
I wont make the lower dressing that light so it won't be a big problem. The light blue from my dressing image is too bright anyway. I want to keep my blender file as much as posssible intact to avoid messing things up. So, better make it transparent. The original mesh doesn't cover completely the dark blue dressing. It's smaller. You can see how smaller if you look at Rubin's version.
Yes, I know that those flags are using home/away banners material name and connect to the team banners. But there is no other way to do this. And sure some team banners have to be edited in order to match this feauture.
Faberge egg is good idea, but I will have to edit my dressing WC template. Maybe it's worth trying. Try to make it and send it to me.
I won't do the confederation cup version. Priority is the WC. The tournament texture you made will fit with Rubin's version perfectly.
Next is Samara...

Actually, the image for the entrance dressing. if possible make it 1024x1024. It will depend how good picture you'll find.

Here is my attempt at Kazan corner dressing x1024 (resizable to x512 if needed):

Here is the Faberge I recreated with transparent background

And this one slightly bigger but needs precise cropping

Also note sometimes they had just a red line separating two boards, sort of like this:

In the center board it could be the city's buildings like the Kazan mosque and fire station:

_____________

In other news, I've been redressing German WC 2006 stadiums successfully (Munich, Stuttgart, Dortmund).

The worst adboard-offender I came up against has been Cologne, having a gazillion of ads :D
Would be awesome if it was covered in tournament dressing mesh for international games version

In Leipzig I found this adboards issue behind the goal line:

Also didn't quite understand what this corner section was trying to do with my tournament dressing:

In other other news I also tested the new Old Trafford. Wonder if no one ever noticed even in fifa 16 the Manuchester thing? :D

Also tried using the special tournament dressing you included but it still either ended up in a mess (looks like it used dressing for that league)

Or didn't show up at all when I renamed the two UCL dressing files to:
specifictournament_0_141_1
specifictournament_127931_141_1

Because my Man Utd id is 127931 and the league they play in is 141
