I don't like crowd kits. I want to find a way to disable them.

The number of fans wearing kits isn't realistic - especially in the away fan sections and during winter and wet weather.

Is there a way to disable crowd kits, so all fans wear normal, generic tops?

Maybe if you decreased rendering quality the crowd will disappear, set it to the lowest and try.

I actually did try that in the past. It doesn't get rid of the crowd kits. It just makes the quality of the models lower and rougher.

That's weird, in FIFA 14 setting rendering quality to "very low" from the game settings removes the crowd completely!

You can also get the crowd to disappear in 16. But that's not what I want. I still want the crowd there, just without the team kits.

You can just modify the t shirts they are wearing, via Revolution Mod I think. There is a possibility to set a texture for the crowds of each team. Maybe you can assign it globally

I've done that before. It's not effective for what I would like to see, because it just replaces the crowd kit with another single design else, rather than disabling it. I'd prefer that all the fans wearing crowd kits wear a variety of generic shirts, instead.

A possibility would be editing the crowd files of each stadium by removing home and away crowd. But I am no stadiummaker so do not know how to do that. Check the Stadium editing forum.
But I assume it is quite difficult, so do not know if worth the effort.

With FIFA 16 crowds, each seat has to be assigned as either "empty" or a type of home or away fan. There's no option for neutral fans that I'm aware of.

Crows is dressed in 3 ways in FIFA 16..

Generic dress .. color of the teams.. player kits

About the color you can disable it assigning the colours of the teams.. it depends what should be the main color you want to see around.. Working on old stadiums I chose grey grey and grey.

Kit you can design the kit you want and have also a variety..

The problem for me is the generic.. because textures for crowd work in a strange way and there are many..

I am trying to remove any bright color to have grey or black crowd clothes.. to have them more classic but I still trying..If someone know about I will be glad to receive advice.

But for what you want I think that the modified kit and the color of team is enough..

I want to eliminate the player kits completely and have all fans in either generic or colors.

Modifying kits doesnt really have the same effect, because you still end up with large sections of supporters (especially away sections) wearing the exact same thing.

Not true.. you can set until 4 different kits with Rev Mod. try to look in the file crowd.lua in fifarna assets.. Maybe there is a way there

The only functionality I've found in Rev Mod is to have a different type of kit worn by male and female spectators.

You can also have different kit options, but only one or two can be used in amy given match.
