    In FiFA 08 you can bid on a player not on the transfer list, but it must be done during the Transfer season. At the bottom-right of the screen there's an option to search by name, just type in part of their last name and a list of possible matches will show up, pick the one you want and...

    As Il Divino Codino said, use DB Master... Run the DB Master program, open the 'fifa.db' located in the FIFA07/data/cmn directory and wait until it loads. Click 'players' in the left panel, then search for the name of your player, then scroll right until you see the column 'retirementage'...
