Bench and Reserves

EA should increase the number of bench players instead of only 5 because sometimes i want to substitute a player that is in the reserve because there are some teams that have alot of good players and don't fit in the bench, specially on the national teams because you should be able to substitute any player you want. EA should also hava an option where you could call a player from a club team to join the national team even though that players is not on the original player list that fifa puts in the game .

I think there should be 7 subs on the bench. This is the amount allowed by UEFA isnt it? or at least let the user set it, which is the best option. Also let us set how many subs we can make for the whole match. Friendlies for example should have no limit if we want to.

I think they should have realistic squad numbers of upto 30-35 players like most European clubs do! Get it right i only been waitin since FIFA 99!

They should have more than 5 in leagues that have 7 or such, or in the World Cup there were more available. Also in Friendlies the reserves should be available to play. Anyone on the roster should be available.

As long as they get the rules right with the subs then it doesnt bother me. It should be:

Friendly: 12 subs named/ no restrictions on amount used
Domestic: 5 named/ Max 3 used
Europe: 7 named/ 3 used
International: 7 named/ 3 used

If they get it right it would make it more realsitic as this is what the reality is, and it also allows you to make tactical decisions more, as if a left winger got injured and u have the whole squad to choose from it would be too simple. Where, if u have a limited number (say league, which is five) if a player is injured and u dont have a direct replacement then u must have to chop and change the squad round with tactical decisions and what would work best for your team. This would make u feel like a manager of some sort as long as stats have affect on gameplay that is, otherwise there'll be no point really.

I know International selection is available so you will have control over who plays for the national team but i dont know exactly how this'll work. I just hope u can select anyone from their given nationality like in RTWC98, it was perfect solution. Why they took it out baffles me.

Most squads are not larger than 25 and most coaches try to get it down to 21-23 players.. but sometimes they cannot unload them..

Hartley: It should be:

Domestic: 5 named/max 3 used in england, etc... and in other leagues like italian, spanish and almost every league 7 named/max 3 used. You got the international right, but in World Cup, Euro Cup etc they can name as many substitutes as there are reserves...

And sorry about this seems like PB, but Valioso: Don't you think that they should try to put some youth players, also to the team?

Yes, in most domestic leagues you can name 7 subs, EA should get this straight for once. It's annoying if you have lots of good players.

There are so many small things like this which have been wrong since Fifa 98, and have always stayed the same.

I wish EA would just make a new game from scratch and forbid the devteam to look at the previous versions and only read the feedback of the customers

Now they're probably starting with a list of things they want to change, in respect to the previous game, before the year is over.
And they should start with a list of all things they want in the game and then make it, even if it takes 2 years. Just have a second team update the previous game like they do now.

I think you should see players warming up and have a fourth offical showing added on time. Plus the medical staff coming on with sretchers and the magic sponge

IMO having more available subs is much more important to the game then more visuals such as a 4th official and stuff especially if this year the GK can get injured, if he can then you will have to have a backup and only 4 field players... and I thought 5 was to little...

EA should put 7 bench and young players in the reserves, specially in the carreer mode because if you put a young player in the line up and scores goals then other teams would want to buy him and could get money. Nowadays teams are looking to buy young talents, therefore if EA is planning to make the carreer mode more realistic, they should have young players in the reserves of the team. EA should also make a research on the reserves and young players of the most well known teams in the world, specially in portugal, england, and spain.
