False Advertising

Hi, im wondering how the laws of flase advertising affect the EA corpiration. I mean they say lots and lots of stuff that is clearly false advertising, for instance,,saying things will be in the game that are not in the game..saying the game will be out at a set date when infact it wont, watching the turkey-england game last night i seen all the billboards advertising fifa2004 saying its out on the 24th of october (also it saidwww.october24th.co.uk-but no site exisists). My point is surely there is laws against the EA behaves toward its consumers and if i only knew them i would not hesitate to execute them in the apropriate manner.
Ea are a bunch of amatures in my opinion, and now i guess the are useing illeagal activity to sell there games.

Well last year, on the back of the PS2 cover they showed the fevernova world cup ball, when infact you could not play with this ball in the game. As little it may be, im sure they would have convinced a few sales.

And belive me - it wasnt a mistake, they knew they were going to make something out of it. There is nothing wrong with coorporations making a profit, but cheating customers out is just wrong:kader:

All right, so u are saying that there have been people out there buying FIFA 2003 just because the fevernova ball was in it and only because of that????

Yes they do affect the way ea operate - but they are very easy to get round

eg1. The date: If u look at the small print it will say somit like this:
- date subject to change, ea reserve this right to change the date of release.

eg2. The Fene-whatever ball: EA will say:
- product details may vary slightly.

+ every1 does it!!!!!!!!!!!! every company in history stretches advertising rules, it gets them noticed, it fools customers, and above all it gets them money - if u don't like it - don't buy the game!!!

I think you can play with the ball on the back. I got a weird ball for one game in club championship (2003) mode.

quite right, it wasn't false advertising at all, the game does come out on Oct 24th, in the UK on Ps2 (I'll be buying it)

there isnt false advertisement on a release date because it is always subject to change... and all the features they said were gonna be in it that arent, they told us before anyone is able to buy it that they didnt have time or whatever to get it in so I dont get what ur saying? you dont have to buy FIFA cuz I promise you wont hurt there sales...

Even though I deeply hate EA, they are not the only ones setting false release dates for their games, LOTS of game companies do this, games get delayed all the time, just look at the recent Half-Life 2 fiasco. It is incredibly common for games to get delayed, sometimes even for years.

lol, there's no such thing as a "false" release date....come on.....its common sense to know that release dates are subject to change......that's been the case forever......its like a concert date....if they cancel the show because the performer gets sick, its not false advertising......jeez, so what if it comes out November 2nd....or whenever, thats 8 or 9 days, not the end of the world!
