im tired of yall people from europe hatin on americans!!!!!!! this is ridiculous 97% of you havent even been to america!!!!!!when you go to basketball and american football forums 1/3 of the threads dont say europe and england are ignorant!!!!!! I want all yall losers to come live here in america and then lets here what yall have to say about how ignorant we are!!!!!! Anotha How Can America Beat evry1 at the "worlds game" if we jus got in to the world cup like 30 yrs. ago!!!!!! So i think yall need go kick roks cuz yall jus soundin stupid!! :f***:

I lived in Chicago for a year, and yes, people around there are ignorant of what happens outside of the US. You don't know how hard it was for me to find any info on what happened outside of the US. Thank god for BBC America.

I agree with the points made about the NBA and NFL champions being declared world champions but I DO know why the championship of North American baseball is called the World Series.

The reason is that when there was a baseball championship at first it was sponsored by a US newspaper called The New York World and therefore it was named the World's Series. The name stuck but became more commonly known since then as the World Series.

Oh btw the Americans didn't first get to the World Cup 30 years ago.

The USA reached the semi finals in 1930
