why FIFA is like it is?

we all know that scoring from outside the box is a bit too easy and some of us are crying out for more realism but i do not think we will ever get this. you see EA are not trying to make FIFA as realistic as WE, i do not think they ever will as some people do not want the super realism that WE offers and EA are offering them that alternative. i look at FIFA and WE like EA's NBA Live and Sega Sports ESPN NBA (AKA NBA 2K series). Again EA offering is arcade/simulation why Sega offer hardcore simulation for people like myself. They cater for different people and will never change that.

if u wana say we is a football simden u haven watch/play football before.we and pes3 looks like upright programed robots runnin ard the pitch with little realism to real socer.n if u like shootin the ball like a rocket on a standing position so tt it rockets off the bar and rebounds to the halfway line then pes3/we3 is da right game fer u. for me we and pes3 are arcade game and fifa is a football sim. its like comparing arcade flying games to flight simulator.most wud prefer arcade cos they noe 0 abt flyin. u can c the work done by ea into simulation eg authentic faces kits stadiums commentary trademark moves/freekiks gameplay but not we and pes3. we and pes3 jus got the concept frm arcade soccer games and made new versions wifout much upgrade.if not for introduction of gamecube/xbox/ps2 they ll stil b usin ps1 graphics.
Another great thing abt fifa 04 is u can chose day/night wich few pple mentioned that its a huge plus point.forget abt weather(doesnt understand why pple like snow) u can now relive the great derbies ard the world eg milan derby roman derbi d el derbi in spain they r all played at niight not like fifa 03 wher its like f**k playin these great games durin day

both games arent realistic.... PES is closer to it admittedly

i have to say, i neva played pes so i can't comment on that, but if u think fifa 04 is arcade, then ur a dimwit. too easy to score from otuside? put the difficulty over semi-pro newbie!!!

i never said it was arcade, it is arcade/simulation. i means that sometimes shooting from outside the box can be unrealistic sometimes. the shots power is blistering!! also i am playing on pro, i am not even dissing FIFA 2004, all i done was put up a post on why FIFA is like it is.

Listen, don't mean to offend anyone and don't mean to make any one mad. All i want to say is with FIFA, you have all the liscensed players, stadiums, teams, leagues and kits. What more simulation can u ask for, u cannot get a perfect game, every game on this planet his its own flaws, PES3 has things FIFA doesnt, FIFA has things PES3 doesn't. Both games are good but IMO, FIFA is a very good simulation game and i don't thinks there is another soccer title that can be better than it.

anybody remembers the "actua soccer" games? i had 1 and 2, and they were the most arcade game ever! if you tried a sliding tackle in snowy weather, you slide 10-15 meters!!! fantastic!!!
so, you could make a sliding tackle on the keeper, when he had the ball, and score!! a great game! lol!!!

I HAVE THE DIFFICULTY ON PRO LEVEL AND I CAN STILL HIT GOALS FROM OUTSIDE THE AREA INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE NET, NOT EVEN THE CORNERS of th net!!!!

yeap that sucks but u gota remember its the alpha/beta built of the game.i ve seen it in the official website that they made some major improvements in goalkeeping and they r keeping mum about it. if u look at the video of thierry henry playin fifa2004 near the end of the clip ther was a goal(by henry in da game) and the keeper make a realistic full stretch( somethin u wun see in demo).breamster had mentioned this earlier too.Also i think there ll be more celebrations cos the celebrations in the demo sucks.its awlays like the scorers are like stan collymore who celebrate by himself

I agree but EA should work a bit harder cause some flows is unneccessary it is just a lack of work

FIFA IS ARCADE BULLCRAP. iN FIFA YOU CAN FACE OPPOSITE FROM THE GOAL AND PRESS THE SHOOT BUTTON AND THE PLAYER WILL TURN AND IS ABLE TO SHOOT WITH 100MPH AT PINPOINT ACURRACY. IMPOSSIBLE IN REAL LIFE, BUT SINCE ALL FIFA PLAYERS ARE UNDER 12YEARS OR HAVE NEVER PLAYED SOCCER IN THEIR LIFE THERES NO WAY THEY WILL EVER UNDERSTAND....

People are thinking too much on realism as in graphics...not pitch dudes...we are talking and comparing btwn the way players run and pass the ball!

obviously you guys have not played fifa 2004 because it is free flowing more than ever before, I watched the gooners play charlton yesterday and the game played and looked more like fifa 2004 than PES IMO

U are prety much rite. FIFA is not total crap, it's just not good enouph to be called a sim. Sponsors/rights is what makes fifa sell more games + that kids like the fifa gameplay more.

Another thing, why do FIFA always use the same ****e camera angles.

Fifa 2004 is fifa 2003 with better graphics and this off the ball mullarky which is pants . When i play a ball through the player dosent run on to it he stops and chests it down and if ya do get it through its off side ggrrrrrrrrrrrrr . As for the non scanned players id like to meet whoever created them terrible the same scanned man appears in every team hope this creation center for the pc will sort that out . Whats with the weather it dont change at all ???
