my 9600 pro is locking up the pc on the menus requiring a manual restart on the tower.....can't do anything once it locks. Only happens ever so often and never during a match...only on the menus.

Radeon 9600XT & Windows 2000 Problems

I have the Radeon 9600 XT and none of my EA Sports games (FIFA, Madden, NBA, NHL - all 2004) work correctly. Nothing crashes but all the graphics go nuclear.

I'm running Windows 2000 and I think this is the problem. If anyone has any solutions I'd appreciate some help.

All of my drivers are up-to-date.

I can run GTA Vice City perfectly and Civilization III Conquests runs fine also.

I think I'm going to install Windows XP.

Looks like the problem only happens with the Radeon 9600. when I took this out, and put in a Radeon 9200, everything worked OK.

i have tried going back to the Cat 3.8, but this does not make a difference. Looks like I will have to keep using the 9200 until either EA or ATI come up with a solution - bet that won't happen in a hurry:f***:

check the forums at www.rage3d.com and do a search for fifa 2004. You might find some ideas there. My 9600 hasn't locked up since I did some of the recommended ideas from there. Granted, I still rush like hell through the menus, but I haven't locked up.

After reading some of the solutions on www.rage3d.com, i disabled AGP Fast Write under Smartgart, and so far the game has not locked up.:D :D

Give it a try, it might just work.

I have just installed Catalyst version 3.10, and it seems to have done the trick. No lock ups for 6 games now.:rockman: :rockman:

Game freezes!!

Hi guys,

I am new here, I have just bought FIFA 2004. I have a pentium 4 processor, an ATI radeon 8500 with a Sound Blaster Augidy sound card. I am experiencing problems with my game - it keeps on freezing everytime I play it. When I do manage to get into a game, every time I pause it it freezes up again and I have to reboot the system.
I tried closing all the applications and it still gets stuck, what should I do? Is there any download that can fix this problem?

Thanks

Here's my problem, I've got an ATI All-In-Wonder 9600 PRO 128DDR, same series of all those with problems, I've done every single advice and nothing, it still gets stuck, as someone said, just in the menus.
Does anybody know what else to do?

My specs:
XP professional
Celeron 1.7 Ghz
40 gb 7200 rpm
256 RAM
ATI All-In-Wonder 9600 PRO 128 DDR
(I don't think this is the problem)

I've got the Tyan Tachyon 9600 and after a bit of fiddling around with the settings, fifa seems to be working fine now :D
