Rough weekend for football in the Portuguese-speaking world, first the passing of the legendary Leonidas, now the sudden passing of Miklós Fehér on the pitch in Guimaraes. The football world will miss him, and I pass my deepest sympathies onto his family during this time of sadness and grief. As a mark of respect, I will add a virtual black armband to the bottom of my sig for the rest of the season.

Miki, you will be missed. :(

what a god damn shame... a young player in the prime of his life, a bright future in the sport, one of the best players from his nation...his passing away is going to affect the lives of so many.

I think it will, after the death of Foe, Cameroon showed that life must go on by playing in the final even though they didn't have too.

I'm shocked! Such a tragedy... :( I was watching the game on the TV, I couldn't understand immediately what happened, but when his companions started to get near him and I saw their reactions I knew it was a pretty serious situation... The moments that folowed were really, really dramatic...

I really don't know what to say, it is a very painful thing, especially for his companions, friends and family... A dark day not only for portuguese football, but the whole world and everyone, really. Football is such an insignificant thing when compared to other things, even more the life of a human being! It's hard to understand these type of things... Foe comes to mind also...

RIP, Fehér! You will be fondly remembered! :( :( :(

My God. This is awful news, and has put other things in football well into persepctive.

I hope someone sets up a trust fund for the wife and little kid, I'd donate.
