if the cricket team of plays than there will be very less supporters for them because most of the people residing in usa r from other countries and other people dont even know what is cricket. the people who know cricket most likely have no interest in it beacuse they watch basebal, basketball, american football.
only supporters for the cricket team will be some west indians.

I was watching ESPN's new show ICC Cricket World and in it they were interviewing an American player originally from the Windies. According to him, more and more Americans are starting to notice cricket and games are actually being shown in pubs.

For those that are unfamiliar with cricket, I've found a site that explains cricket in baseball terms. Hopefully this will clear things up for you. If you scroll down the page, you will find three links that explain different aspects of the game.

The 96 World Cup was the first time affiliate ICC members (ie. not full members/Test nations) were allowed to compete. I think they did it thru the ICC Trophy, the top 3 sides from that gotin..In 96 it was Kenya, UAE and Holland.

In 99, it was Scotland, Kenya, and Bangladesh (i think?)

And in 03, it was Canada, Kenya and Bangladesh, although, Bangladesh were by then a test nation (which I feel was rushed)...

My guess is that Kenya will be the next Test nation. Pity Zimbabwe are in a state of shambles, they could be a much better player if the political situation didnt scare all of their players away...

Campbell, Andy Flower, Murray Goodwin etc..

Actually, Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, Canada and East Africa all competed in the World Cup as affiliate members too. It was just that fewer places were available between 1975 and 1987 than in 96. The 92 World Cup was the only time there were no associate/affiliate members participating, and this was only because Zimbabwe had been granted Test status soon after qualifying for the tournament.

1975 - East Africa and Sri Lanka
1979 - Sri Lanka and Canada
1983 - Zimbabwe
1987 - Zimbabwe
