06/07/2004. Vicente Del Bosque has turned down the chance to join the Real Madrid technical staff, instead signing a contract with Turkish giants Besiktas.

The tactician has been out of work for a year after being sacked by Real despite leading the club to the La Liga title.

Del Bosque reached an agreement with Besiktas yesterday. He has the option of being able to leave after one season if he cannot adapt to the city of Istanbul.

Besiktas vice-president Kivanç Oktay, said: "He is a very successful coach who led Real Madrid to big achievements. We put all our effort into getting him in charge of our team."

Turkish press said that Del Bosque's first target is Real's Guti...!!

They offered €5M for Jan Koller.

He also wants to sign John Carew, Zafer Biryol, and Oktay Dereioglu. Oktay used to be class, had 18 caps with 9 goals for Turkey and was outstanding at Fener.

Zafer Biryol is very good player..He scored 25 goals in 34 matches this season!!

Zafer Biryol is not a smart move for besiktas, he's not dominate enough, sure he led in scoring, but he'll never acheive that ever again in his life. I don't think it's something besiktas could use, they need flashy big name players to bring some heart back to the team, after that samsun match they went downhill.

they sure are making some signings, maybe theyll take back the turkish title next season

i doubt Guti would go to Besiktas if he didn't go to Roma
