just finished watching the game (it was shown on espn at 3:30pm today in au.)

Probably the most dominant chelsea has played all year and shows wot they have to offer :rockman:

I can see drogba already paying back the money spent on him, this guy is going to be great for chelsea. Hes exactly the striker we needed, as he can be a target man and also create for himself from nothing.

I am not a Chelsea fan, but you guys have to keep this performance up - I have a triple bet on Arsenal to win the EPL, Barca to win La Liga, and Chelsea to win CL :p

If all three come in I am $1000 better off, at a cost of $20 :p
Too bad we are going to also win the EPL.

Drogba looked good after his first last night, but is it only me who thought he pretty average before he scored? Just didn't seem quite on the pace to start with

Chelsea failed with a bid to land Brazilian starlet Robinho last month, his agent has confirmed.

The 20-year-old international is seen by many as the best young player in South America and a host of clubs are keeping close tabs on him.

Barcelona and Internazionale showed interest earlier this year, but it was Chelsea who put cash on the table as they made a €12 million offer before the transfer deadline closed last month.

The bid was rejected out of hand and Robinho's representative Wagner Ribeiro admitted that it was not even considered.

"After the 2006 World Cup in Germany, Robinho is going to cost more than €30 million. He is the best player in Brazil," Wagner said

"I never said anything about the offer that Chelsea made. I didn't consider it from the beginning because they had offered only €12 million and that isn't enough for a player who is young and has a great future."

Instead of considering Chelsea, Robinho has in fact signed an extension to his contract at Santos.

He is now tied to Pele's former club until 2008, but more importantly for the Brazilian side - the player and his agent have stated that he will stay with them until the summer of 2006 at least.

"Diego plays in Porto and earns less money than Robinho at Santos," added Wagner.

The player himself admitted he was more than happy to continue developing at Santos.

"I am still very young and I have many things to learn," said Robinho.

"When I decide to leave Santos, I want to go to a big team that will appreciate what I have done during my career.

"I am not interested in going to a small team, even if I am paid more money.

"At the moment, I am only thinking of winning the Copa Libertadores next year with Santos and then taking the team [Brazil] to the World Cup."

Donno if you guys have seen/heard of Robinho but he's class. I watch him most days. They show Brazilian football at like 3am. Santos V Palmeiras ? Was on last night/this mornin.

He's a good player, fast, tricky, and can score goals. I'd love him to come to the EPL... Seriously.

Robinhooooooooooooo

I don't even think he would be able to get a work permit to play in England... and I'm not seeing why Mourinho would want him right now.

If this really happened which I doubt, it would be just to loan him out to another club like they did with Alex most probably.

Btw he makes more than 100.000 €/month in Santos?

On Sunday we host Spurs at home, with both teams heading into the match unbeaten. I can see that Chelsea is starting to gel as a team so I can't see us throwing the match away in any respect. I say 2-0 with Drogba and Lampard scoring.

Your thoughts?

Robinho definately is one hell of a talent. Though if I've heard right he is injury prone right?

Errr....no. Never suffered any serious injuries in his career. He's skinny, but well, he can gain some muscles.

Torres would be a Milan player. Atletico owns something around 23 millions to Milan, and next year Milan will land Torres for that debt and maybe a player from Milan to Atletico.

OR Atletico could simply sell him to Chelsea for 35 million euros, and then pay Milan the 23 million they owe. I wonder what Atletico would choose? :crazyboy:
