doesnt look good for Kerry though most of the counties left to count in Ohio are Democrats.

NBC was the first to call Ohio...

ah, this is crazy. Nevada can still plip. only 3000 votes of difference.

even New Mexico could flip a 20k difference

If Kerry contests Ohio, someone should **** on his wife and kids. What is with democrats and lawyers for crying out loud? The only way they can win these days is with judges and laywers...

Kerry and Edwards have no class at all. It's obvious that Ohio is going for Bush at this time. He's up around 125,000 votes, and nobody has a clue how many provisional ballots there are.

Edwards... he looked so damn fake up there and knows the outcome already. Kerry lost, he will probably lose the popular vote as well.

Republicans could get up to 4 extra Senate seats... Daschle looks to be done... We have two Republican Senators at the same time in Georgia history... what is the Democratic party going to do??? They have had thier asses kicked for 3 elections in a row now. Maybe it's time for people like Brondby to realize that this country is not a left wing nuthouse and won't vote for your party on a national level.

I need sleep, I'm just cranky.

Looks like Bush has won it... well... hopefully he won't think Brazil hold WMD's or think our people need freedom...

Make America Great Again
Well, Bush appears to not only have won the election, but is the first president since his father in 88 to have gotten over 50% of the popular vote. This definitely caught me off guard, but I think I underestimated how stupid Americans are. I don't think I can ever have faith in the common American ever again. I sold out my beliefs to vote for a major party candidate in the election only to realize that the stupidity of America will always be a hinderance to a good form of government.

Democracy doesn't work when the vote of some illiterate hick counts the same as a lawyer or political science professor who spend their entire careers analyzing this stuff regardless of who votes for whom. Even if it was the professors voting Bush and the hicks voting Kerry, it doesn't matter, democracy is a great idea, but not for a backwater, borderline retarded country.

I love the principles on which this country was founded on, and I love the theory of democracy, but I'm pretty close to packing up and moving to a nation that pays more attention to ideas and results than if a candidate seems like a guy you can just have a beer with. **** America, **** political parties, **** democracy, and most especially, **** George W. Bush.

According to the BBC the standings are as follows.

At Wednesday, 3 November, 2004, 09:54 GMT (that's UK time)

BUSH - 254
KERRY - 252

Mighty close. Either still needs to get up to 270 to win, right? So technically nobody can be declared winner or loser yet...?

ohio hasnt been counted as a bush win yet..... it will need a miracle from the provisional ballots, assuming their are even enough of them to allow kerry to catch up, for bush to lose... id say its over

It's a bit confusing really.

CNN:

Bush - 254 (51% total)
Kerry - 252 (48% total)

NBC

Bush - 269 (51% total)
Kerry - 238 (48% total)

FoxNews

Bush - 269 (51% total)
Kerry - 242 (48% total)

How can they report 3 different electoral votes standings yet report the same percentage? I don't quite understand the way it works.

ShiftyPowers, you're welcome to come to Denmark any time. ;) (H)

As for the election, I just woke up over here, it's Wednesday, 1 o'clock in the afternoon, and the teletext updatre said that they Ohio will decide it. Bush is apparently 120,000 ahead with somewhere over 90% of the votes counted or whatever....looks pretty bad :(

Ohio is on his way to become the most hated state in the world.

Its over, and it was exactly how I predicted. Bush gets re-elected, while the GOP expands their leads in the House and Senate. The Democrats are f*cked, and I don't think even Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama can save them now.
