Min Req performance?

Hey all.
I was wondering if anyone has run FM with min requirements.
I have a P3 800
196mb ram
Win 98
HD space fine
cd rom fine (52x)
sound and graphics fine

I usually just run the EPL with no other leagues. Would like maximum database tho (been playing CM with no Braathen et alia) Anyone running something similar?

I want to know if its worth spending $AUS80 or waiting till i upgrade the computer.

Still playing CM03-04 with 2 leagues and it goes fine (for me)...

cheers,
Mark
(Australia)

PS - first post after lurking for about a year btw

Welcome to the forums, then!

Just EPL should work fine, although 196 MB gives doubts towards the db-size. But as 2 leagues on CM 03/04 is lots more stringent than 1 on FM'05, it really should be fine on large db, maybe even on huge.

An update to your system (CPU speed and RAM (size, and speed as well, I reckon) are quite low for this game, no matter what SI/SEGA say) would not be a bad move though.

well basicaly, if he changes his CPU, he'll basicaly have to get new mobo and ram also. And PSU. U can keep ur CD/DVD/HArd Disk drives tho! And gfx card. Everything else will have to change. lol I hate that sometimes. U have to buy a whole new system to just get a new cpu...

for those who care:

I bought FM yesterday and just finished installing it. Actually set it to install and watched the first half of Chelsea vs Newcastle.

Selected 1 country (Eng) with Premier Division only, but set the database to "large" (i didnt want to miss out on any players)

For those who plan to run it on the Min Requirements....DON'T. It's painful. Even selecting players info screens there is a noticable delay. Anytime the word 'processing' comes up, i shudder in fear...then go get a drink and have a piss. And don't even get me started on trying to save and exit (let alone both at once)

Moral of the story, make sure you greatly exceed min req. Or have a magazine to peruse next to you.

Pick a smaller db, I play 4 leagues, 2 countries from which I pick all players and a small db, works pretty fast (Y)

The game is just incredibly boring IMO atm:( I can't be arsed to start a new game when they say a new patch is close. (They say it will be save game compatible, but that will be for like 1 0r 2 points, out of the whole list

well if u are using more than 196mb (check rite after loading the saved game) then it will 100% go in slow mo. Make sure u dont use aall ur ram ( or more) and it shoul.d run decently

i got 256mb ram

athlon 750mhz

and the game runs satisfactory. loading and saving takes a min or 2 but i can handle that

when 'processing' comes up and i just go play around with my tactics and pic my squad.

by then its nearly halfway, then i go take a look @ the tv and come back and MAGIC its done.

i wish i had a better PC tho lol
