I had a 2 ball "keeper" when I started too. Times are different now from nearly 2½ years ago... I'd suggest training youths. They'll be about the same standard as most of your first team, but they'll train quicker and have more time left in their careers. Also, concentrate on speed and stamina early on, as well as their other stats like shooting etc. An all-rounded player is better than a player with 5 tackling and not much else... unless they're a goalkeeper.

Check that site out, too. Useful resources like stadium ratios etc.

Yeah agree with that! need to go for youths from the start. As for a keeper, if u sell most of the poor starting players for a couple of K each, added to a little of the starting money (most should go on stadium), you can sign a 5 or 6 ball keeper pretty cheap on the market as a short term solution. If he's maxed it doesn't matter as don't need a better one than that till Div3 anyway

Look on the bright side - it's much cheaper to buy mid-range players these days (just sold a 5 ball keeper for 12k!). Not like the good old days when I used to play you in div 3!
