Back Already :kader:
But he is a good goal scorer in the MLS and he brings some credabilty to the League so its at least good to see him in a Galaxy jersey

Donovan also had a few words for his naysayers.

"I know there are people who are skeptical and will be critical and say what they want: 'It wasn't the right decision,' for whatever reason," he said. "But, I want you to remember that I'm here because I love soccer in this country. I love American soccer. I love U.S. Soccer. I love Major League Soccer."

- As an American, you have to respect him for that.

This holds true for pretty much every MLS fan on this board. And as much as u might love soccer in this country, everyone of u guys would want to be in Europe playing alongside some of the world's greats... unless of course u cant cut it.

If he was homesick, fair play to him to actually come out and admit it. He is a great player. If he had stayed where he was unhappy, it would of affected his on pitch performance, with most of the people's point of view (ones who post on here anyway) Donovan would have been crisitised for poor performances. Hes in a no win situtation

It doesn't hold true for me. I live in the states, and have for my entire life and I do not enjoy watching the MLS. I'd rather watch curling, at least it's more competitive. I honestly can't see how anyone can say "I love the MLS". They play on American Football fields for crying out loud! How can you stand to watch that kind of rubbish?

Why he went to Leverkusen to begin with is beyond me. He should have tried to go to the EPL. I know that he tried to work something out with Portsmouth, but it didn't pan out. If I were him, I'd keep trying to get EPL clubs interested. He definitely has the pace and technical ability to play in the EPL...but he opts for the mediocrity of the MLS. Unbelievable.

I can understand his decision to a certain extent. Why do most South Americans go to Europe? Because they want to earn money, don't give me that "higher competition" BS.

Donovan earns enough in the States due to all his marketing etc. furthermore he has a secured first team spot, the weather is much better and the family is around him.

Sounds like a beautiful life to me.

I find that comment to be rather ironic, considering your location says "Russian Federation"...which would imply that you're Russian. You know the Russian Football League isn't exactly top notch. Am I wrong?

There you go again, racial abuse.

The next thread will be sectarian abuse.

You make me sick.

I actually respect Donovon for what he has done. Sure he left Europe and came back to the States, but he made it quit clear that it was not Europe that made him the player he is today, but it was the US and that is where he wants to stay. Since he is one of the biggest American stars in the game it good for the league to retain him.

Though it will be weird seeing him in a Galaxy jersey.
