Pede 54's Kit Thread III......The Saga Continues...

Thanks Bryan........... :ewan:

Runar i live about 12 miles north of London mate, but i have been commuting into London for the past 2 weeks to work. This morning i caught a train into town.I had to get to central London,a place called Russell Square.I changed underground trains twice, and at Kings Cross i was told to leave the station and get a bus.I got a bus and i got off at Russell Square station.I crossed over the road into Tavistock square and all of a sudden all hell broke loose. All i was aware of was a huge noise behind me and before i could turn to see what caused it,i was blown off my feet and sent hurtling towards the fence that surrounds the square.I stopped myself hitting the fence too badly by putting my hands up.I looked behind me and this bus was blown to bits. The body of the bus was mostly gone and the rest was just hanging there. There were so many people on the floor and there was blood and screaming everywhere. Then i saw a girl of about 19 laying about 100 yards from me screaming, but i couldn't hear anything apart from a high pitched noise in my head ,her arm was gone man,and she was just looking at her empty sleeve and screaming.I realised that it must have been a bomb, and i just wanted to get clear because usually one bomb going off is usually followed by another bomb.Well thats how the IRA used to do it anyway.I picked myself up and realised that apart from a few glass cuts to the back of my head,i was ok.There was chaos and bodies everywhere and before i knew it Ambulances and police were on the scene.I just sat back down and watched as the emergency services tended to the injured and began taking them to the hospitals.A paramedic came over to me eventually and asked if was ok.I told him i couldn't hear anything and that the back of my head was bleeding. He got me to an ambulance and i went to the hospital too.I spent all day there just waiting for the most urgent cases to be dealt with first.By 2 oclock this afternoon,i began to hear again and my head had stopped bleeding hours before that.I just wanted to go home. The entire transport system was shut down.No trains,no buses,no nothing.I walked to a friends house about 3 miles away and after a cup of tea and a couple of spliffs to calm me down a bit,he drove me home.I was one of the lucky ones mate.We all knew this thing was gonna happen one day it was inevitable after the carnage in Spain and elsewhere. We endured many years of this when the IRA was active,i'd been caught up in one of those London blasts as well, but nothing as devastating as what i saw today. It was really bad mate and now i gotta try to get the things i saw today out of my head .What a f.u.c.k.ing mad world........... :kader:

omg Pete this is smth you only see in movies or read in books and now you've seen it with your own eyes  I'm glad your ok pal. I was at work when it happened but we have a tv there and we watched in horror.
My thoughts went out to you and a good friend of mine who lives near London and works in London. I just heard from him and thankgod he wasn't in the area when it happened. But they were sent home from work early and he also told me that they were closing up the entire London area and it took him a long while to get home. I hope you will not have a lasting impression of this but for a while it will be unavoidable I'm afraid. Today of all days with the beginning of the G8 conference in Gleneagle Scotland and on the day 007. Al Qaeda is behind this there is no doubt. I'm afraid Amsterdam or Rotterdam will be next someday because we still have military in Iraq and our prime minister supports Blair and Bush. Blair was pretty shook up by it all and very emotional i've seen. My heart goes out to England and her citizens of course and especially the London ppl. Take care mate, glad your ok after what you've been through

Thanx a lot guys....I'm ok ...really......i'm one of the lucky ones, and as bad as it is,tommorow is another day.I'm taking the day off though, just gonna have a lie in and take it easy i guess.Be vigilant in your cities and towns though, you know, bags laying around and all that, you never know where the next one will be huh?I worry about the opening day of the new season now.A stadium would be a likely target i would think. It wont stop me going though i suppose.Anyway thanks for the good wishes guys. Its the families of the dead and injured that i feel for really.Anyway you lot be careful too....... :ewan:

thanks Paul.....You know,i was just reading what i wrote yesterday and it just dont make any sense.I got some details messed up big time.To be honest i was trying so hard to remember what happened but the whole day was just a blur.I suppose the shot of morphine at the hospital contributed to that as well.Today, its still a little hazy but i guess it will soon pass i suppose.50 dead now the latest count.....its so bad.Still, thats enough doom and gloom in my thread....i'm gonna make some kits :ewan:
