I found another really cool feature.

Beckham was about to take a freekick right outside the box and it was really packed inside the box.
Gallas notices Michael Owen is not covered so he runs to cover him but he knocks into Terry on the way. That causes Terry to actually get knocked over and falll, all of this happened while the free kick was taken.

Yo dude, how do you "hit the ball to one side and run around the defender the other way"??

Cheers,

I feel that PES5 focus more on defensive play than before.
In WE9, when a human opposition played a through ball to his attackers, my defenders would just stand for a second before noticing that both the ball and the opposition striker were on their way towards the goal. And then they would start sprinting towards my goal, but to no use as the strikers were already 5 metres past them, and when he played with Shevchenko, Gilardino and Vieri upfront, I had no way to stop him. Very annoying.

But it seems as if this has been made better in PES5, the defenders actually stop some of the through balls now, or they are more responsive.

Anyone else noticed this?

definitly , I remember the key to winning in WE8 was to play your players spread out to the side, then you make a through pass and just run them in as fast as you can and then cross the ball in for a goal, of course that was the safe way to play, I only did that when I was losing.
That is literally impossible now unless you build up to the through pass going down the side, you can just press W and boom, your midfield player is all the way up the field ready to make a perfect cross.

Yeah, you have to build up your play more now from midfield. I'm playing with my mate, he's Milan and playing a 4-3-3 formation with Gilardino, Vieri and Shevchenko. In WE9 he could basically just press the triangle button with his midfielders and the ball went clean through to one of the three strikers with my defenders just standing there. Now he has to build up more play from the midfield, playing the ball in the team, and it really frustrates him ;)

That is the way I have been trying to play since WE8, and now I'm finally getting rewarded for playing this way! :P

Yea, I start working on that too. Right now I'm trying to bring in the use of little tips and chips into my game, I used to be always passing the ball around low but I've found it very effective if you chip the ball to a midfielder, he could chest it and just tip it over a few defenders for your forwards. A lot of times I actually press R2 with my forwards when the defender is running, then I quickly turn back up and run, if you look closly this could messs up the other defenders and the defendering following you and opens up spaces. I usually just turn back again pass to a midfielder for either another pass or a shot.
