Tired of the only two referees available?

I wonder why no one posted it on these forums yet, but the guys over at Fifamania Italia and especialy Outsider87 have done a great job of making a referee patch for Fifa06, adding 24 international referees to the game!

I installed it, tested it and it's smooth as silk!

http://www.fifamania.it/ (site in italian, follow the "referees patch" link and then choose "scaricia" = italian for download)

Included in the patch and needed for optimal installation is Rinaldo's excellent File Master 06.

The installation instructions for the referee patch are in english and italian and should be easy to understand.

Included is a fifa.db updated with latest Italian league transfers.

If you want to keep your fifa.db and custom modifications,but still want the new referees, export the table_referees and table_refereecountrylinks from the included fifa.db to yours. (use UniDB 4.0 and convert to Access to do this)

Is it possible to just add the Italian transfer portion to the current FIFA.DB I have?

I did what you wrote in the 3rd kit thread and grabbed that french FIFA.DB and it seems nice. Vogel is in at Milan, Valente, Vandermeyde, Guys at Benfica, etc.

I don't want to lose those players but I would like the latest Serie A stuff.

It works with the same method as you used for the 3rd kits.

Okay so you can add just the italian transfers/updated squads and not affect everything. Nice.


Okay now I have a new problem.

File Master.

I have the NET software. It's installed.

FIlemaster06.exe keeps giving an exception error.

Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.

Process id=0x8d8 (2264), Thread id-0x890(2192)

Click ok to terminate
cancel to debug.

I have rebooted and also removed and reinstalled file master.


Not expecting you to solve this, just added as info in case you have seen this error before.

I am adding net framework service pack 1 right now.

Maybe that will fix it.

That's that. I give up. NET Framework is annoying. I installed and reinstalled and uninstalled 1.1 1.1 SP1 2.0 etc.

Same error every time.

Add to that, NET Framework has no clear area where it is installed. How the heck do you even configure it? NET Framework forums were worthless.

Oh well. Two refs.

Copy and paste this info in Rinaldo's File Master 06 thread, it's somewhere in this forum, I'm sure he can help.

In the unlikely event that it still wouldn't work you can always substitute File Master with the older BIG GUI program, but there you have to recompress the files inside the bigs yourself (Filemaster does this automaticaly and I have almost switched 100% now to that program even as an old BIG GUI fan )

BTW, you'll need NET Framework more and more as the newer editors and even Fifa 2005's official creation centre used that software, so try to find a solution since it's use will soon be inevitable!

Yep, I know exactly what you are saying. I really need to get NET Framework up and running.

beta 2.0, but all my applications that needed framework worked with 1.1 also

THis is awful.

Trying to install the SDK and at about 85% of the way through I get a message saying the install.cab is corrupt and NET Framework SDK install cannot continue.

Microsoft is no good.

Maybe you would send me your FIFA.DB with the refs added?

table_referees and something with table_ref_country

Okay Billy, I reread your first post.

If I just want the refs in, can I copy the two tables over from the italian DB with the added refs and that is that?

Meaning do the calls to refereeheadID exist in the game already?

Or do I need to insert graphics for the new refs? Basically, what does your line about File Master being needed for optimal installation mean?

You need to insert all referee graphics into zdata_1.big with filemaster yes.

Okay, I see.

I see in the readme for the ref patch that two refs are hidden with their graphic files in the game already. So for now or until I can get this evil NET Framework to work, I will just enable the two hidden refs in the FIFA.DB.

DESCRIPTION: This patch adds 24 referees (international and italian) and unlock Markus Merk and Mejuto González that are in the graphic files, but not in the database.

hey guys, i followed and done all the steps that are given here and in the read me text about this patch,but it didnt work....i dont know what i did wrong but in the game i still see the only 2 referees and not the 24 of the patch...can anyone give us some more detailed description step by step just to see what mistake i made?thx

Check your FIFA.DB in your Data/CMN folder.

Do you have UNIDB? or can you actually get the File Master working?

If you have UNIDB just export FIFA.DB to an Access database and check the referees table. You should see all the referee entrees in that table.
