Why would you want to kill Bush anyway? His approval ratings are down to 37%, his lowest ever and I believe the lowest since Nixon. Three more years of this will ensure that the Republicans will not retain the presidency (can't promise anything about the House or Senate). But if he gets assassinated, his popularity will soar. People are going to throw their support behind Dick Cheney.

Doesnt it just say everything when the best argument you can come up with for not killing a president is that 'he's not that bad' :p Surely, for the most important job in the entire world, it wouldnt be too much to ask to get someone who's absolutely f*cking amazing - there must be one of them out there - not some mediocre "average joe" who is either stupid or evil depending on your viewpoint (unless your viewpoint happens to be from the back of your trailer, in which case he's amazing).

Bush is neither stupid nor evil. Stupid for a president, yes. He's not evil, but he's not very compassionate either. Is he a bad president? Yes. Is he the worst president we've had in a while? Probably. But he's not the evil megalomaniac some people paint him as.

Well, maybe I am naive, but yes, I seriously believe that. This tactic has worked well for activists in the past, brand-based activism, targeting one entity that represents all the problems. Like say the anti-nike or anti-shell campaigns - ok, yea there are still loads of serious problems, and theres still a lot that has to be done, ofcourse it doesn't matter if only nike changes, theres still thousands of large multi-national corporations out there doing the exact same thing, but this has been used as a mechanism to connect all these issues together, environmental issues, labour issues etc. and to connect them with people in the so-called 'developed' world. In the past, you see workers going against environmentalists, saying that jobs will be lost, but not anymore, we can now see the problems aren't that simple. George W. Bush is simply a symbol representing the things they are up against. It's much more difficult to oppose an invisible power and so many issues, perhaps it oversimplifies things, but it serves it's purpose.
