What a goal by Robinho, from a neutral point of view, he's not useless anymore.

was a really well-taken goal, I agree

but I don't know about him not being useless any more ... the goal itself was merely gloss on the scoreline, and nothing more :p

but seriously, its consistency that will revamp reputations and win hearts, not mere flashes of brilliance ... someone should tell Robinho(od) that

Reports suggest that that Real Madrid are ready to step up their bid to bring Boca Juniors teenager Fernando Gago to the Bernabeu. Along with Barcelona, the Spanish giants have been keeping an eye on the 19-year-old for some time, with Premiership champions Chelsea also monitoring the situation.

The midfielder is widely regarded as one of the hottest prospects in South America and is thought to be in with an outside chance of making the Argentina squad for next summer's World Cup, having already been an integral part of the Boca team that recently picked up the Torneo Apertura trophy.

Boca have already made it clear that they want to keep the youngster at the club and president Mauricio Macri recently stated that the player would be staying with the club until 2007 at the very least.

However, Real have already been in contact with Boca and now seem to be ready to test the Argentine outfit's resolve.

A substantial bid from Real, who are also monitoring the progress of Gago's Under-20 international team-mate Sergio Aguero could give Boca a real dilemma.

The player has previously revealed his desire to play in Spain and is thought to have a preference for the Madrid based club over their fierce Catalan rivals Barcelona.

this Gago rumor is getting stronger and stronger! :jambo:

Certainly wouldn't mind another defensive MF, young, and obviously very talented. I don't really know to much about him, but I hope he's an aggresive player, sort of like Tommy G.

We should start a real DM, I'm gonna start believing Gravesen when he says it isn't his spot. He was lost all the match, in attack and defence. Please Pablo get fit soon :)
do you think pablo is good enough to hold down midfield, or should we go after someone as rusi suggested?

i havent heard any rumors about buying a defensive midfielder

Well, I think he only lacks speed, but now the DM receives more support from his midfield mates, so it could be easily compensated with a larger number of people around him.

On the other hand, he knows how to steal the ball, get positioned in the field and distribute the game in a simple and practical way.

BTW do you guys really think that Zidane goal was offside?? I really dont think so, it looked like he was onside with the defender.

EDIT also i forgot to mention the MOM was Robinho. Even before his goal he was dribbling ( and it worked this time (Y) ), holding up the ball well, passing well, positiong himself well. Really did well in that match.
