Free Kick Tips

Does anyone have tips on how to score goals from free kicks? I'd greatly appreciate it because I'm just beginning to have fun with this but I can't manage to create anything from free kicks. It always go wide or hits the wall.

Just know who's taking them. The usual trick is always dead on half way of the bar and depending on who's taking them use the directions. ie, someone who has mean curl just use left or right to curl someone who is pure power maybe use the flatter up direction with your kick and if they are closer in with good acc use the down to get a nice up n down free kick.

Usually the money free kick would be someone with good curling who can bring the ball away from the keeper. ie on the right side of the box i'd use a left footer start in and take the ball out and vice versae.

I don't even bother with curl--depending on shot power, I'll either shoot it by just hitting Square, hitting Down+Square (usually within 22 for a normal shooter, 24 for Ballack with his 97 power), or hitting Up+Square (28 or longer for a normal, 30+ with Ballack). The harder hit ones curl less, so I aim about 1/8 inside of the post on those. The short ones that I hit with Down+Square and the regular kicks I aim 1/4 inside the post.
