and as expected, Poland choke again on the big stage. What the hell where they doing taking so long to shoot when they had the space in front of the net? They're pros, and pros should be able to control and boom, not control, let it bounce, set his foot, then shoot and get blocked.

I liked Ecuador's display. They were hungry, they fought hard, and they were humble. They didn't whine to the referee and they played steady football. Props to them.

What a s*itty display from Poland. Things don't look good for them. The middle of their defense is slow as hell, the Germans are gonna have a field day.

Damn, Ecuador shocked me, really impressive, props for them. Before the World Cup, nobody (including me) gave a damn for them, now they probably have the 60% of possibilities to pass to the Round of 16. Poland is almost gone.

Today we all heared "Si se Puede" in 2 World Cup matches ... really nice :lui:

Any up-and-coming centreback should watch this game over and over. The two ecudor players have been brilliant, heart on the sleeve stuff. What defending's about, not ******* fancy dandy ****. Leave that to the women up front!

i have a feeling that Poland could shock the germans in that game...i am telling you...:jambo:...germans showed a really bad defence today!

Germany just needs to stop playing the offside trap and theyll be fine, but yea this was a pretty boring game except for Valencia and their 2 CBs.

Poland passed the ball way to much and they only created when it was already 0-2. I feel the score was tough, but Ecuador had efficiency and looked better when taking shots and finishing, so props up for the win. Jelen should have scored that one.

I would be pleased had Poland won the game, but ... phew. No effective offensive play at all, and the manager only takes proper action by 80th minute :boohoo: . Well-deserved congratulations to Ecuador for a classy win - they are pretty much qualified as draw resolution is firstly by nº of points in matches between drawn teams (and so Ecuador > Poland).

wasn't that second goal by ecuador an offside?

the attackers were both onside when the first pass is made.....but when the second pass is made the attacker it is made to was all alone not a single defender near him? or did I miss something?

both players beat the offside trap

I feel bad for Poland, they played reasonably well and didn't get their asses kicked by any means. I gotta give them credit too for fighting even into injury time for a goal, a lot of teams would have given up by then.. bad luck happens, all our teams have days like that.

It's ok, actually "cold breasted"(pecho frio in spanish) is common in here, used chant against players, you hear like "pecho frio, pecho frio pecho frio".

Cool, bro. I'm not challenging its validity in any way. I just found the expression to be quite hilarious and unique, thas all.

Shouldn't it been cold-chested though? :funny: The term actually comes from horses and it was said that when it was very cold they would not get up move the load they had to carry. It was often labeled that they had "cold-breast" or "pecho-frio" and so would not do anything. Don't ask me how it got to football though...

No, you're most likely correct in your translation of the idiom from Spanish to English. It's just that I've never heard it being used before. We also have our equivalent expressions in English aswell dealing with anxiety and fearfulness but this one was new to me and sounded ******* funny.

Thnx for enlightening me on its origins.

Let's not forget that Poland can still qualify if:

1. Costa Rica beats Ecuador, and Poland draws to Germany. Then in MD 3 Poland have to beat Costa Rica. with Germany doing likewise to Ecuador in order to go thru.

GER 7
POL 4
CRC 3
ECU 3

2. Costa Rica beats Ecuador, and Poland beats to Germany. Then in MD 3 Poland have to beat Costa Rica. with Germany doing likewise to Ecuador in order to go thru.

POL 6
GER 6
CRC 3
ECU 3

3. Costa Rica draws Ecuador, and Poland beats to Germany. Then in MD 3 Poland have to beat Costa Rica. with Germany doing likewise to Ecuador in order to go thru.

POL 6
GER 6
ECU 4
CRC 1

4. Ecuador beats Costa Rica and Poland beats Germany. Then in MD 3 Poland have to beat Costa Rica. with Germany doing likewise to Ecuador. That'll leave the table like this:

GER 6
POL 6
ECU 6
CRC 0

However the order I have might be a bit tedious, I think in that case it'll come down to Goal Difference. But of course I dont know those numbers yet ;)

If it was me I'd go for the first option, It'll save face for both european teams with no-one owning the other, and send the two minnows packing. :jambo: But then again if it was me, Poland would have won 2 - 0 with Frankowski, Zurawski and Dudek with a clean sheet :nape:

Anyhow i'll sign off with: Jesce Polska nie zgniela!
