I don't know man, to be fair I've always been a big Sony fan (maybe 3 x PS, 1 x PSOne, 1 x PS2), but I don't mind the ol' Xbox. One hurdle will, however, be the fact that I don't have any money at the moment, and I don't really need a console. Still, I wouldn't mind one :D

I guess the constant PS3 bashing by Microsoft could only be regarded as a sign of weakness. I didn't read that much bashing from the other side.

Even if (and this isn't the case) the Xbox360 and PS3 are equally powerful, the PS3 has a much much longer life span. And unlike PCs, the longevity of consoles is a major factor in deciding which to buy.

When I start making serious money I guess I'll bring the PS3 straight away.
That and a Jaguar.

PS3 (i think) will simply have better games. Get so fed up of all the hardware hype, it barely matters. All that matters are the games, and their gameplay/graphics. So simple.

I'm trying to find a reason to get the Wii, which I admit looks like it has a lot of potential to be a really fun system... I'm concerned thought that there hasn't been a single mention of any footy game under development for it :( (please let me know if I'm wrong though)

Looks like it'll be the PS3 for me unless some we get some big news soccer-related from Nintendo in the coming months

it's going to be tough. Sony's been the leader of the game industry a record 11 years now (while Nintendo was 9-10 until PS1 took over in 1995)......and it doesnt look like losing this time or the next (just control way too many markets) <X box is dead in Asia vs. Sony>

But the 1 thing that affects me is MONEY. And X box is aparently dropping prices for the PS3 launch.

1) The system is rediculously expensive (I dont give a **** if they have "Blue Ray" <which is an excuse to seperate the product from X-box).

2) Im buying mine cause of the games that I want which are
1) Resident Evil 5
2) Winning Eleven 10
3) GTA 4 (Tokyo!!!! ....lol, sorry I got excited there. But it's just a rumour so far).

I dont need much else. Sony lost it's edge when it lost many of it's "system only games" (forgot what they're called).

-Both systems have pretty much the SAME ******* GAMES. And X box will be so much cheaper, and the graphics are more than fine <the "Blue Ray" pushes it too much for me>
- Plus X box is getting Halo 3, which I've never been a fanatic of........but I admit is awesome.
- Also PS3's launch titles are mediocre right now and Im not planning to buy the 4506556565 games they make, just probably 10-12 in it's history.
Devil may cry 4 looks cool though.

The Nintendo Wii, believe it or not, might actually surprise ppl (and the market). Alot of ppl are talking about this and the price is very cheap (with games being only 50$$$, wow). Cool games too: M kart, Anime RPGs, Star Fox, Mario, Smash Bros, M Party, etc................plus a few other games like Zelda, and the new Resident Evil Wii <which isnt "5" , just its own series>.)
It looks great too, and the controller doesnt even look like a guimick , but actually the future of gaming.

Im a Sony guy, but ive never been "faithful" to a company. (Trust me, I grew up with Nintendo, but at 1 point when I was 13 and saw the N64 section had "Bust a move" and "Quest", while PS1 had "Final fantasy 7, Resident evil series, etc etc" , I said "enough is enough".

Sony might have ****ed up bad here (price cause of the blue ray, when launching a similar system to X box would have wiped the floor with everyone again).
History shows that this could be a crucial **** up in their history, but we'll have to wait and see.

But so far, I think the Xbox 360 launching its system 1 year in advance might have been the smartest thing after all.

The Blue-ray addition is all about adding longevity to the console.

In 6 years, when the Xbox360 is outdated, and the PS3 offers up to 30-50GB of storage capacity in its games, the difference will be astonishingly satisfactory.

I agree the price is #@$@#%!@. But it's worth it considering the console's logevity differences.

For 1-2 years, game companies may be inclined to producing the same version for both consoles, but after that, the 50GB space will start kicking in. And that makes a world of a difference.

But again, I expect Xbox to release a new console in 6 years maybe, so you never know.

I'm ultimately a PC-gamer, not into consoles at all. If Im getting a PS3, I'd be buying a PS3 keyboard and mouse from the same store.
