and to someone who said rio's place is in danger: who can it be in danger to? there is noone close to him except ledley king who is out anyway. but, when rio is put up with pressure he is rock solid. fast, strong, quick, can keep up with any striker, and can head the ball well.
in qualification this year he wasnt looking nearly as good. Its a good thing for him and England that King had an injury and that Sol Campbell's career went into the toilet (but behold: even he is in Germany). England's third option in Germany should be Carragher. However, I have always liked Rio as a player and never thought he was too overrated. But you must admit Terry, Ashley Cole and Neville are the definition of indispensible

Wayne Bridge is streets better than Ashley Cole? Someone has been playing too many video games. When both are fit and in form, its not nearly as big a talent disparity as people make it out to be

Wayne Bridge.. has nothing going for him. He's older, slower and weaker defensively than Ashley.
I may be slightly biased as a Southampton FC fan, but heres my opinion on Bridge.

Wayne Bridge may be slower, but that is only due to Ashley Cole being lightning quick, and Bridge defensively weaker than Cole? nahhhh.

However, England are an attacking side and Ashley Cole is perhaps better suited to the task in our England side, but Bridge I think is a better defender on a whole than Ashley Cole.

firstly, get that name out of your display name. you cannot have anything close to my name while having such stupid remarks.
secondly, ashley cole is a great defender and a great attacker. he tracks back ever so well and when he is 100% fit is by far superior to any left back in the world. the last england game he wasnt 100%, hopefully he can get there next game though.
next, gary neville may look to all of us that he doesnt do Carlos and he sux, but he is soooo important to the team. hes a leader and vocally helps others out while doing the dirty work also.

i feel the biggest place in danger is owen. when rooney is back, how can we take out crouch? crouch is vital to the team just like beckham. our offense is beckham>crouch>another player to score. i dont feel owen has what it takes anymore.

I never said anything about Rio's place being in danger. Sorry I took your name. I had no idea someone else had it but now i come to think of it, its not a hard name to come up with.
I think Owen can come good. He has been injured and I still say the League seasons go for too long. And ontop of that you have all the cups.

Anyway i don't think i have stupid remarks.

Crouch wasn't vital to the team before the Rooney injury and wont be when Rooney returns. The intention of taking Crouch was the plan B during the last 20 minutes of a game if needed. Owen and Rooney was the partnership going into the WC before the injury.

Owen does not have what it takes anymore? Don't speak ****. Owen plays on the shoulder of the last defender, his game is based on sharpness and pace, the sharpness to get extra yard over the defender, he hasn't got that extra yard yet. He's getting there but he needs more games. When he is sharp there is no better center forward, he boasts one of the best goals to game ratios in the World at club and international level.

Spot on. Owens record speaks for itself yet people still choose to be so picky.

crouch has now earned his place. you cant deny that with him he makes beckham look better and he makes englands system better also. without crouch, beckham will be sh.it just like euro 2004.

rooney is a no brainer. 100% indispensable, hes young and quick and so heavy noone can take him down... which means the other dentre forward position is between crouch and owen. the last few games, including the alst couple with newcastle, you can tell that owen is not strong enough to keep with these defenders. not only that but the last few years you can tell he is not as quick as he used to be. granted, hes still up there with the best, but you cant tell me now that he deserves a place ahead of crouch.
