VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION: THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION

How does the gameplay comapare to Winning Eleven 9 or 10?
Please answer cause I've been waiting for EA to come out with a decent title for years now.

Well, let's just say I've been playing PES5 since it came out, and I haven't put the demo down for it at all, even with the new Superpatch out.

It's that good.

It's about on the same level as PES5, maybe a little better in some aspects, a little worse in others. I would definetley recommend it. Think of WE's gameplay with a proper manager mode. =)

As long as the IP play works on the full version it'll be a good game but the graphics suck sh!t through a broken straw. :kader:

Haven't put the fifa demo down? Or the WE10 demo?

Sounds good but I'm always skeptical about Fifa. I hope the 360 version is better than the PS2, Xbox. I hear they are rebuilding the engine from scratch. I pated the article below. Can we trust them or are they usual lies? :lui: = if true!

FIFA 07 ON XBOX 360
23.08.2006
The future of football was unveiled today at the Leipzig Games
Electronic Arts has revealed the dynamic new engine that will debut in FIFA 07 on the Xbox 360™ system and lead the franchise into the future.

Two years in development, the new engine is the single largest investment EA has ever made in the football business. The engine is poised to redefine the way sports videogames play and feel. A physics-based and data-driven technology, the engine delivers individuality of player movement, authentic athletic motion and an unprecedented level of responsiveness.

“Get ready for the first real next-gen football experience. FIFA 07 on Xbox 360 will deliver athletes that move as fluidly, as realistically and as intuitively as athletes in real life,” said Andrew Wilson, Senior Producer for FIFA 07 at EA. “This engine is the most sophisticated sports technology we’ve ever produced – it gives us the ability to transform football as it is played today but more importantly, it is a dynamic technology that promises to deliver new innovations for years to come.”

The new engine creates a decision-making layer in FIFA 07 that gives each individual player a ’football brain’ - a level of intelligence never before seen in a videogame. Player characteristics are now based on brand-new traits and twice the number of attributes, so no two players move in exactly the same way. Instead, they behave like the individual athletes we see gracing the pitch week-in, week-out.

FIFA 07 allows players to recognize their favorite athletes by the way they move. The human biomechanics of each athlete are taken into account and replicated in the game because the new engine is data-driven -- the player motion is driven by individual attributes, physical characteristics and for the first time, traits.

“The FIFA 07 engine unlocks ultra realistic player motion and delivers complete responsiveness due to its ability to branch animations and the real-time calculation of real human biomechanics. Essentially our software engineers are writing human decision-making code,” said Hugues Ricour, Producer for FIFA 07 on the Xbox 360.

FIFA 07 also introduces new ball physics, a central component to the feel and finesse of a football game. For the first time, the ball is alive with its own independent physics, resulting in truly unpredictable gameplay. Now any type of pass or shot is possible and goals will feel natural and unique.

Bringing the football experience beyond the videogame to truly deliver a complete media package for football fans is the online component to FIFA 07 which streams up-to-the-minute match results via real-time podcasts and news ticker. Nowhere else will football fans find such a comprehensive destination for football stats, information and real-world news.

With this new engine and licenses from the top leagues around the world, FIFA 07 on the Xbox 360 will create the most refined football gameplay experience to date.”

“EA SPORTS is focused on gameplay and online innovations. We believe fans will feel the difference in FIFA 07 on Xbox 360 the first time they pick up the controller,” said Clive Downie, VP, Marketing, EA Europe.

Developed at EA Canada in Vancouver, B.C., the team is composed of football fans hailing from around the world. Drawn from France, England, Japan, Brazil, Russia Australia and beyond, the team may cross 10 different languages but they all speak “football”.

Wow! Staying Power backs this up! Another satisfied player. Big question = Did you like Fifa 2006? Out of ten, how did you rate it? Your answer should answer my question about Fifa 2007

NK makes gameplay patches for Fifa.

I rate the demo 9/10 (some minor annoyances), but I think with the potential of the manager mode it will definetly be good. :D

Well as far as I can tell it won't need patches (famous last words :p). They may be able to do what they're doing with PES (converting Option Files and the like) but I'm not too sure if that's possible.

At any rate it's a good game without patches, and I'm sure it'll be better gameplay -- considering with they've done with an old engine, with the same people in charge it should be a good game engine -- and the graphics will only be helped.

Man I wish I had a 360

Staying, I picked one up yesterday even after I heard about those over heating problems. I'll just buy the fan for it. Now all I need is a HD set :O:

Don't keep it in an enclosed space while playing (if you have it on a shelf under/above the tv, pull it out while playing). That should stop it overheating. :)

ronaldo9, just bought a 360 yesterday. Did I make a wise choice overall for all games? As for football. I saw the 360 WC game and it was very uninspiring and lame, same ol ps2, xbox game. I hope I'm not jumping the gun in thinking EA will make agreat game after that WC debacle game. And I'm afraid, they'll just glossy up the grafix, and ignore the gameplay. Anyone have thoughts, insight on this?

OVNY its good that u bought xbox360, as we may all have a good footballing game experience on nex-gen which we ll have first next-gen pes + fifa2007 brand new game engine & new ball movments, which sound good.
so i am personally planing to buy both games this year,
deffenitly will get pes6 as i know the gameplay will be deep as always,
about fifa2007 i am gonna wait to play the demo first in marketplace if it ll be any? and decide if i ll buy it or not.
about wc2006 (not talking about the sound & graphic) u right the gameplay is plain unrealistic soccer game, as i like simulation football game, that game wasn't for me, still a step up, compared to fifa versions,
at the moment fifa 2007 pc version its overall improved gameplay, thanks to the ball phsichque better passing, shooting, and the player movments which sems to open the game a bit more + makes the game more random, still sims that u are not totally in controll with the player, but xbox360 version will do that with the new engine (:/)hopefully
ll have to wait and see

Have to get used to the ballphysics that's for sure, sometimes when the ball goes up in the air it looks like a balloon  I hope they make it more realistic in the full game. The graphics (faces and stuff) are the same as 06 but for me as a SS taker for kitmakers etc the new cinematics are great cause I see lots of close ups of players during the gameplay but also shots from the goalkeepers getting ready for the game and stuff.
Having said that, when the close up scenes show the rendering of the video is not good, it's too slow and I see stuff almost in slow motion I don't think that's on purpouse ;)
Can't wait to see the game in 1280x1024 must look a hell of a lot better and I need a demopatch for longer gameplay as well.
I'm playing on my PC btw but that should be obvious reading this and I use a Radeon X850 XT Graphicscard with 256 megs.
I read that they are fixing some things in the demo they are about to release (v2) for Radeoncards so I'm waiting for that one.

Player control is still not as responsive as say PES which makes you feel a bit part in the match.

I'm surprised anyone thinks PES is responsive, I play it an awful lot but find it unresponsive to the point of frustration.

One thing I've noticed is that while the overall pace of the game seems a bit too fast, the speed of the players seems too slow. Any one else agree/get what I'm saying?

I totally agree on this. I have had to double check that I am sprinting sometimes.
I am not yet blown away by the demo as some are. I usually wait to see what I think after playing the full game extensively.

The fast pace of the game has already had a fix posted for it. It's just that the game's speed is set on normal or fast or something. To fix it, create a locale.ini inside the demo's folder and copy-paste inside it:

[OPTIONS]
GAME_SPEED=0

There you are.

Hube Astard, because WE (PES) is much much closer to real football than fifa.

I think it's laughable that so many people think that their gaming experience will be different on the Xbox 360 compared to the PC. This system is billed as next-gen but it's nothing more than a processor/graphics card upgrade. As far as gameplay and ball physics being different on the 360, I think not. Graphics might be different I suppose considering that the game wasn't developed on the PC (console port). What is most important in my opinion is the gameplay. From the demo, it's definitely improved over Fifa06 but still not up to WE standards.

I think it's laughable that you obviously have no idea what's going on. EA have made an entirely new game for the 360.
