+2 to that, I think. Entirely ne wgame for 360?:bob: I thought it was for all consoles. I guess that explains the limited teams. If it helps out in maximizing gameplay , graphics, I'm all for the few leagues...if not...:nape:

I think it's laughable that so many people think that their gaming experience will be different on the Xbox 360 compared to the PC. This system is billed as next-gen but it's nothing more than a processor/graphics card upgrade. As far as gameplay and ball physics being different on the 360, I think not. Graphics might be different I suppose considering that the game wasn't developed on the PC (console port). What is most important in my opinion is the gameplay. From the demo, it's definitely improved over Fifa06 but still not up to WE standards.

FIFA 07 ON XBOX 360
23.08.2006
The future of football was unveiled today at the Leipzig Games
Electronic Arts has revealed the dynamic new engine that will debut in FIFA 07 on the Xbox 360™ system and lead the franchise into the future.

Two years in development, the new engine is the single largest investment EA has ever made in the football business. The engine is poised to redefine the way sports videogames play and feel. A physics-based and data-driven technology, the engine delivers individuality of player movement, authentic athletic motion and an unprecedented level of responsiveness.

“Get ready for the first real next-gen football experience. FIFA 07 on Xbox 360 will deliver athletes that move as fluidly, as realistically and as intuitively as athletes in real life,” said Andrew Wilson, Senior Producer for FIFA 07 at EA. “This engine is the most sophisticated sports technology we’ve ever produced – it gives us the ability to transform football as it is played today but more importantly, it is a dynamic technology that promises to deliver new innovations for years to come.”

The new engine creates a decision-making layer in FIFA 07 that gives each individual player a ’football brain’ - a level of intelligence never before seen in a videogame. Player characteristics are now based on brand-new traits and twice the number of attributes, so no two players move in exactly the same way. Instead, they behave like the individual athletes we see gracing the pitch week-in, week-out.

FIFA 07 allows players to recognize their favorite athletes by the way they move. The human biomechanics of each athlete are taken into account and replicated in the game because the new engine is data-driven -- the player motion is driven by individual attributes, physical characteristics and for the first time, traits.

“The FIFA 07 engine unlocks ultra realistic player motion and delivers complete responsiveness due to its ability to branch animations and the real-time calculation of real human biomechanics. Essentially our software engineers are writing human decision-making code,” said Hugues Ricour, Producer for FIFA 07 on the Xbox 360.

FIFA 07 also introduces new ball physics, a central component to the feel and finesse of a football game. For the first time, the ball is alive with its own independent physics, resulting in truly unpredictable gameplay. Now any type of pass or shot is possible and goals will feel natural and unique.

Bringing the football experience beyond the videogame to truly deliver a complete media package for football fans is the online component to FIFA 07 which streams up-to-the-minute match results via real-time podcasts and news ticker. Nowhere else will football fans find such a comprehensive destination for football stats, information and real-world news.

With this new engine and licenses from the top leagues around the world, FIFA 07 on the Xbox 360 will create the most refined football gameplay experience to date.”

“EA SPORTS is focused on gameplay and online innovations. We believe fans will feel the difference in FIFA 07 on Xbox 360 the first time they pick up the controller,” said Clive Downie, VP, Marketing, EA Europe.

Developed at EA Canada in Vancouver, B.C., the team is composed of football fans hailing from around the world. Drawn from France, England, Japan, Brazil, Russia Australia and beyond, the team may cross 10 different languages but they all speak “football”.

I'm giving this game an 8/10.

And this is coming from a WE fanboy.

Can't wait to see what it'll be like on my Xbox360.

Ok here are my thoughts:

This is the best showing of this current FIFA engine since it came out for FIFA 2003. I only wish a game like this came out sooner :)

The ball physics are the best of any FIFA game yet, and for the first time I get a rewarding feeling from scoring goals, especially shots from outside the penalty area. I enjoy seeing the swerve on the ball, quite realistic.

The ground passing has been improved and I like how each pass is not a guaranteed completion, unlike previous FIFA's. Air passes likewise, not as "automatic" as before, although still could have been improved. Fighting for air balls is nicely done, again, with no guarantee to win the ball.

Goalkeepers are more intelligent with their choice of saves and their timing of charges towards the ball, nice work EA.

A big change from older version is that the backfield gets involved in the offense with nice runs down the wings or up the middle of the pitch, and a player will always cover for a rushing midfielder/defender.

The atmosphere is excellent, this is nothing new.

Overall, nice game, only a shame that next-gen is upon us and I am now looking forward to the 360 version (which I really hope won't be all that different) and it is quite likely this game won't be BC for it.

Hube Astard, because WE (PES) is much much closer to real football than fifa.

No it isnt! I dont think PES is close to real football at all, its just as flawed as Fifa in different ways to Fifa.

Guys, give it time. You'll be scoring the same goals over and over again before you know it. And so will the pc.

Predictability kills a soccer game. That's why Fifa has many other "game modes" and leagues; to divert from it's massive predictability problem.

Someone said it before here, PES/WE lets you do what you want with the ball, the play as a whole... You can score a different goal everyday.

In my 1st fifa07 match (sure ball physics were much better), I scored 4 identical ugly goals, so just give it time :)

I'm getting more and more pleased with this game and have put down WE9 hopefully for good when Fifa 07 is released.
A nice touch Ive noticed, when you are playing near the radar it fades out. So many times I have wished there was a way to move the radar in PES when the ball is there.
I love the way you can direct the ball when you cross from the sidelines more than any other football game.
However. When you skin the full back, he gives up and stops instead of pressuring you. Also as said before, the ground being covered is not in proportion to rate of movement of the players legs. Minor things, but the full back giving up and just standing there needs to be fixed before full release.

For those of you that own a Xbox360:

Has it locked up on you once or even multiple times? Have you experienced the "red lights of death" and had to replace a console? Is the cooling fan unbearably loud?

To me it seems that this particular console was rushed to beat the release date of the PS3. Also, the fact that it won't play that many of the original Xbox games and that the current list of available titles is rather slim does nothing to increase its attraction to buyers. I'm impressed with the specs but frankly the failure rate scares me away. If I'm going to pay $400 for a console only to have to turn around and shell out 1/3 of that to get it repaired or replaced I'll pass.

Anyway, I'd be curious to hear actual owner experiences.

you can download xbox live updates so more xbox games become playable on 360. Microsoft will continue to release these updates.

Bollocks. I've played Pes5/we9le for a year now and for every good goal I score there's a replay of an identical one in my save folder. I'm sick of people claiming Pes is something untouchable and holy. It's a good game and to date it's the best footy sim available, but for god's sake stop ******* praising it like it's the best thing since sliced bread. It's not. I've yet to make my mind up about 07, but it's not feeling too bad so far. It does seem to have potential to be a decent gaming experience and if it is, that's enough for me. Because I'm ******* bored of the stupid master league and I'm generally bored of playing Pes. Pes is a good game but not that good to last 4 years without any remarkable changes. Twiddling with the gameplay is not enough of an improvement when the rest of the package remains yet again untouched.

After Playing the Demo for a few days, I think im ready to make a proper judgement on the Demo.

Ive been a fan of the PES series for the last 2 yrs but this rendition of Fifa i have to say is awesome. I love the fluidity of the game as well as some neat little things which u dont get in Pes like the handballs, and the appealing for handballs in the box... and it not being given.

Plus ive scored some awesome distance shot (30yrds +) which thrash some of the distance shots ive scored in PES. It looks realistic with the ball swerving and the end result is amazing.

Graphics are pretty cool as well and some say that the speed of the game is a bit fast. Personally I disagree. I think that this gives the game that high tempo, which, tho it may not be as realistic as PES, gives a really nice and fun feeling to the game.

The presentation and commentary is as expected, decent and well timed. The crowd is nice and loud and they quiten down in places which is a cool touch.

I've heard that in the previous Fifa's the game felt scripted with the dribbling and the type of goals that was scored all seemed to be all very similar. But this year i think EA have done a good job,.... the dribbling seems realisitc and the ball doesn't seem to be 'magnetic' to a players touch.

All in all i find this demo is very satisfying and great fun to play.
I'd give it an 8.7/10

Ditto

I got PES 5... i don't think getting PES6 will give me anything extra or different apart from a few extra skills and maybe the odd bit of licesing
I think i will try sumthin different this year... Fifa 07 is as good a bought

I think the total lack of fouls is the greater wakness of the demo
i never have seen AI pressing my player..

Oh I have got quite some fouls, and it's easy once you know how to earn them. My only complaint is of myself, who doesn't know how to score a damn freekick yet. Unless I call a second player. Right.

i feel the keepers are still less than adequate... there was a weak deflection, and van der sar just looked at the ball it went practically through his hand.. didn't go either direction and yet the ball was at his finger tips...

I don't like that the fact that the away crowd still sound awful when the away team scores.

Otherwise it's great lol

honestly, it's a great game.
