UEFA Champions League 2006-7 coming to 360?

Saw the new videos on ign and graphically it looks much better than FIFA 2007! If they include more leagues, teams in UEFA CL, fine tune gameplay and make the game deeper I will buy it for sure. But why is EA Redwood makiing it??? Wasn't WC2006 abysmal??? Don't understand! By the way, the chants sound new too. anyone know about the chants? See the screenshots? How real does Diarra look? Amazing! PES looks like a dinosaur compared to this!

Oh, I am extremely happy to see real adboards in the stadiums. FIFA 2007 had every 3rd adboard a FIFA one! (just like Konami puts their name on everything in PES(surprised they don't have konami written inside of konami). It's to the point that it takes away from the authenticity!

One thing that really worries me is that they don't menion Online Play! Anyone have info on this?

If you're wanting the definitive football game wait for FIFA 08. FIFA 07 360 is by far the best gameplay for a FIFA game, innovative and entertaining but not without its faults. If EA iron out the bugs in the engine, up the difficulty and make the shooting much harder to master, we'll have a winner.

Right now, FIFA 07 compliments gamers who don't play true football and you can score some really, dirty cheap goals. That's the main gripe. You DON'T have to play the game the way it's meant to be played. This is bad. FIFA 08 should require true football skill to win, not Ronalidinho sprinting!

I'm sorry but after TWO soccer games from EA I THOUGHT Fifa 07 whould have been the difintive game. guess what NOPE! waiting for Fifa 08 is like waiting for air in outta space.

judging by the drop down menu at the start of the video, it doesn't look like there are any leagues in the game, just CL teams. That's fine and dandy with me but I hope EA doesn't charge full regular game prices for this one when it's more like a FIFA 07 based mini game.

Im afraid you are right. I 'll take way better gameplay, smoothness, over extra leagues.....for now! Fifa 2008 should be great! The CL game looks really nice though! I'll trade in 2007 for it.

Yes, winter weather effects! Unlockable stadiums, league play as well as CL play, gloves, breath, etc. Looking really good. Check out the link. It's the most info I've found yet! Now all I ask for is TROPHY CELEBRATION! (It'd be a travesty if they excluded it from the Champions League!! Big travesty. and a visible ref! (probably not gonna happen though :()

The graphics/player models, faces look better and the passing seems more fluid than fifa 07 but the gameplay looks similar to the world cup game than fifa 07.

I wonder what the reason was to give one game each to two develpoment teams?

pls check carefully , those WINTER EFFECT only happens to ps2 and pc version..........not xb360.....
I just want they can improve gameplay and stadium details, lighting........if more is bonus...:taz:

You're right! Winter Effects only listed under PC/PS2(N) WTF??? I can hear the meetings at EA: "Well Stewart, lets keep the good stuff away from the 360. With all that power that the 360 has I think it'd be a good idea if we strip down their game alot". "You're right Bert!, it makes sense to dummy down the 360 version you know. I think it'll attract more people and push up sales".

lol true but who from the general buying public that doesnt follow the game's progress before its even out will choose to buy/not buy the game based on whether it has winter effects or not so i guess ea is thinking like that instead

So that makes it logical to strip down the version of the game that is played on a more powerful system?

Next gen Fifa should have a visible ref, awesome 3D crowds with flags, flairs, banners, drums, , trophy celebrations, variable weather effects, 3rd alternate kit, deep options...as along with great gameplay and super intelligent AI. Or am I asking too much?

True but being that so many games have accomplished this on the PS2/original Xbox, etc....I think everyones waiting for more. There should be very little bonus things on a powerful machine like the 360.

As the saying goes, the closer to reality you get, the more you tend to notice missing things. I think thats what one of the Eurogamer reviewers (Kristen Reed I believe) once said.
