I dont smoke. Bah. Never had a cigarette in my life.

But like basically every Dutch person, I do enjoy some weed from time to time.

Hmm...like Sir Sir_Didier_Drogba here, i think a harmless quantity, mine is like a pack in a month is not harmful, it just gives ya a nice feeling when you are low.

Anyone here heard of "Gudang Garam", its some Indonesian brand with slove falvour..damn smooth. I kinda hate all the lights, too hard for me...

Damn..it even has a wikipedia article!!

I completely agree with Sir_Didier_Drogba here, in the right circumstances smoking is perfectly acceptable; i do really resent being made to look like some sort of rapist when i light up in public though, that irritates me.

also i wonder, in Holland do you have no need to mix your weed with baccy. In London especially its soo expensive that you just can't do it properly with just Weed.

And also on the topic of the illnesses around smoking. Do people really find it neccesary to constantly inform smokers about how much damage its doing to their bodys. Like we havent figured out from the giant labels on the packet.

I don't mean this in an attacking way, but just out of curiosity, I've always wondered why smokers start smoking in the first place?

Personally, I know it'll screw me up in the long term, especially if I got addicted which is why I never intend to smoke even one cigarette... so I've always wondered that.

I'm a smoker. I smoke about a pack a day, although it depends:

- If I spend a day in college (since 10 am), have dinner out and go drinking at night or to a concert (till like 4, 5 am), I might smoke 1 and a half/ 2 packs - about 30/40 cigarettes in the entire day.

- On the other hand, if I spend a day at home (where I'm not allowed to smoke) I just go out to the cafe and have one or two smokes, and maybe another one after dinner.

I do notice changes in my health, when it comes to breathing, or stamina while playing sports, but that depends on each one's system. I've been a regular smoker for 4 years, got my lungs examined last summer and they we're completely clean.

I know it would be good for me to quit, but I just don't want to. Right now I'm only focused on reducing my habbit, and not just for the health reasons, but mainly for the financial ones... But I don't want to let it go. First of all, smoking during a night out helps you tolerate alcool a little easier, and hell yeah it makes you look cooler. Also, I love a cigarette in the morning, I love to smoke during my coffee, I love a cigarette after a great (and spicy) meal, and of course... that smooth and sweet cigarette after sex (H)

I'm not exactly proud for the circumstances. Basically I started smoking to fit in. The guys I hanged out with (and still do), were all starting to smoke, so I went for it as well. Before I knew it I was saving my lunch money to buy a pack of Luckys. I switched to Marllboro's last year, they taste and feel better.

And about girls, every one I messed around with since I started smoking were all smokers as well, so...

1 pack lasts at least 5 days, since I only use it to mix with the pot.

i started for two reasons really. First, when you start going to pubs for the first time and your like 15 and you just realised how expensive a pint is. You cant afford to always have a drink if your there for more than 3 hours. I know it sounds odd but it was useful to have something to do with your hands.
Plus Pint+'grette --> amazing.
The other reason was sort of peer pressure, although i didnt really feel the pressure, i chose to out of my own will really. Its just that i started doing draw when i was about 15 with these older kids. In that position you dont want to cough on a toke, think about how embarresing that would be. So i did if anything to condition my lungs.
That and it really keeps me grounded when im stressed - like exam time.

I love that you're saying cigarettes de-stress you, that's brilliant.

I'm on the smokers side as well....

Started when I was 15 but I've become a regular smoker probably a year and a half ago..... If I'm not drinking I don't smoke more than 3-4 Carlos*s a day, but I drink almost every night so once I start drinking it's just one cigarette after another :S

Why did I start, I don't even know, no one ever told me to, I was first out of my friends to start.... I always liked the buzz they used to give me, and I just like the process of smoking in itself... I smoke a lot of other things.

I used to hate menthols but once I started smoking them I can't smoke anything non-menthol, it just tastes like paper... Camel Menthol Light (Y), Newports when I'm drunk...

And I've gotten with girls who hate smokers so if you've got everything else on check it won't stop you from gettin some.

And all of you talking about health aspects... I'm sure a lot of you spend hours in front of the computer, don't get enough exercise, don't have a healthy diet, etc. so it's a little self righteous of you to criticize smokers.

Well...spending all day infront of your computer or not eating healthy hardly bothers anyone else so it's not really a fair comparsion..

I don't smoke, don't have any intention to start doing so. If people want to smoke then fine by me but I don't want their fumes up my nose...

yeh i know its bollocks scientifically apart from the intial realease of nicotine into the bloodstream.
It's more that before an exam i have a specific routine that i like to follow, part of that being walking my dog and having two grettes while doing it. Somehow knowing ive done that just keeps me slightly grounded the night before.

Tom

Yeah but, my point is, it doesnt de-stress you, its just because if you dont have it you get stressed and agitated because your body craves it... which you mistake for actual stress.

I'm just saying. Anyway i agree with Storm on this one, not bothered about people doing it, just don't do it near me.

Filipower

so basically you are bothered about people doing it, because if they're not near you it's pretty obvious you won't get bothered :p

See in Perth, you wouldn't be able to smoke there, even in pubs...

On the First of July England Goes Smoke Free!!!!

Damn those Advertisers have me.

But by then itll be pretty much impossible to smoke, you cant in public places like bars and the such. You can go outside but i personally have to go down some alley or deserted road because the looks you get off people who walk past you. Seriously its like you're addicted to Crack.
