FIFA 08 PC Release

Well as has already been posted FIFA 08 has been released in Australia and I have just collected my PC version of the game. I will try to keep all you current gen players updated on what the game is really like compared to the demo.... Hope to keep you updated and hope to be able to let you know its not a dissapointment.... Im off to play for a few hours now but be sure to expect a review later tonight....

i would like to know more on the "Be A Pro" mode and can you please include some screen shots? there are lot of sites but sadly they only focus on ps3 n 360/ wii version.

yea i was also wonderng if its same camera as next gen.

Also DIRECT IP i assume is in the game but just wanna make sure.

And i hear the controls are changed such as Q si change player instead of S or whatever. But can you change them back?

Ok am now making my way through the game... Now I have gone from my heavily modded FIFA 07 to my basic un-modded FIFA 08 and personally I prefer my 07... BUT I must stress it is a big step up on un the un-modded 07... Admittedly I would dearly love to change the kits which once again are EA apparent rush jobs... The current Manchester United kits look like they were drawn up in paint in half an hour

The new gameplay features I am really liking though. For example the manual defensive player switch... Just flick the skill thumbstick in the direction of the player you want to control allows the player to take control of the defender they want rather than the defender the computer thinks you need based on distance to the ball... Being able to take manual control of your own goal keeper is also a great addition to the fifa series... It just seems as though you are more in control...

Graphics-wise i was not as impressed as id hoped i would be... but then this could be because im used to my modded 07.... The stadiums and lighting look to have been improved greatly but unfortunately apart from adding a couple of stadiums they have not actually changed the stadiums.... for example i would swear EA have used the same model for Old Trafford since FIFA 2004... I was really hoping that the stadium model would have been changed to include the new quarters but if you see what i mean.... they havent really changed the stadiums.... just re-texturized them....

Be-a-Pro mode is an interesting mode..... I think this will be a love/hate mode.... Pretty much you pick a player and you play the game as per normal... even the camera is the standard camera.... so sometimes the player you are controlling may not even be on the screen.... I seem to be finding it slightly frustrating though because I occasionally want to be able to change players mid-game but im stuck on 1....

Pretty much I would say to all those who are considering purchasing FIFA 08.... watch these forums... read what the patch makers are doing and WAIT... FIFA 07 modded to the way you want it is better than the standard 08 so just wait.... But really I cant wait until we see a Creation Master 08 from Rinaldo, another unbelievable gameplay patch by NK, have all the talented kit makers have their kits to be easily imported into the game...

Give it sometime.... personally I cant do anything with FIFA without Creation Master so when this is released (Rinaldo i really hope you will soon ) i think that it would be the perfect time to invest in FIFA 08....

wow what a great match! the cpu plays amazingly. it's like the real match. how the cpu creates attacking are superb! it's like midfield domination match. so hard to create chances. the defend is so tight. although i am not winning the match but it don't make me disappointed at all. this is really the best among the fifa series for pc.

and yeah the "Be A Pro" mode too really fantastic... finally we can feel that sometimes it's not that easy to get the ball!

only the colors of the kits, player's model etc make it looks like a computer game. it's so real!

hey Olsilverback, do you know how to record the highlights of the game and export to video, I have seen in the previews where this is suppose to be a new feature but I can find it in game. I can save a normal replay and export to video, but as to record and entire match, can that be done from within the game?

Can you please confirm these two things?

1) whether it is possible to play 2 players vs CPU over DirectIP or LAN? In previous FIFA games (2004-2007) when you tried to select sides over DirectIP or LAN, the game wouldn't allow two controllers to be on a same side. Does it allow it now?
2) whether Be a pro over DirectIP or LAN supports 2 players vs CPU?

These are really must-have for me, if it doesn't have this I will not buy the game.

only adebayor has a new face( and a good one) as far as i have seen, i'll look and tell you if there are more

Hey, could somebody tell me if in Inter Milan there are new faces for Ibrahimovic, Adriano and their GK, Julio Cesar? Also, are Marco Materazzi and Adrian Mutu fully in the game or are they still under different names this year too?

Ibrahimovic has a new face, Adriano not, but materazzi is finally in the game and has a face. crespo has a new face suazo doesn't, i think that's all in inter, oh yeah and Forza Milan!!!!

So I guess Mutu has been left out again then? Its good that at least adebayor has a face now! and materazzi too, its about time!

Oh, and 08 it's sooooooo PES-esque, a lot of new improvements compared to 07, I really like it!
