Vista and PES 2008

Not sure if this should be posted in the technical section or if the general section is fine.

I have already pre order and payed for this game but after reading around some forums I have come across a few issues so I need to know whether I will be able to play this game or will I have to sell it.

The question I have is does this game work on windows vista 32 bit?? I know it's for some reason not officially supported.

PES 6 works fine under vista for me . I just want to know whether the new one will work or not.

My computer specifications are:
core 2 duo e 6400
asus p5n32 e sli motherboard
xfx geforce 8800 gts
2 gig ddr 2 800 mhz team extreem ram
250 gig sata 2 hard drive
samsung 226bw lcd 1680x1050
windows vista home premium 32 bit
logitech key board and mouse
logitech rumblepad 2

And please no switch to xp comments. All my games run fine on vista . If this game doesn't work I am going to be terribly disappointed since fifa 08 works and from all accounts it's an inferior game to pes 2008.

my system:

core 2 duo e6600
2GB DDR2 667 RAM
Asus P5B motherboard
ATI x1950xt
Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit

Game's running very smooth, except some minor frame rate issues (thanks to Konami)...

it has been reported that Vista and 8800 owners have some issues with PES2008.. Not sure about details though.. just make a search for it..

Doesn't work for me on pretty much same specs as you have. Geforce 8800 GTS, dual core etc. Afaik gf 8800gts on vista 32 has this problems.
Ok, it works, but only on 640x480 and low details. Supposedly my graphics card doesn't have enough VRAM (more then 64mb!) eventhough its got 10 times the ram required, so I'm not allowed to choose anything else then worst graphics possible.
It was fixed in demo with kitserver, so im hoping for a fast release of it for the full game. There will surely be a workaround for it or you can just make a dual boot with wins xp, where the game runs as smooth as you could possibly wish for in full detail on highest possible resolution...

I think I will see on Friday how it does some people claim it has fine on their similiar systems. Else I will wait for the kitserver.

Don't have a copy of winxp so I can't dualboot.

maybe the problem is only with the 8800GTS cards, I know it works fine on my 8800ultra card but that has a different core chip than the GTS...:hump:

I have read of guys with 8800 gtx also have problems. But all of these had 4 gig ram so that may have been the problem. I only have 2 gig so we will see on Friday whether it's the ram or the gfx.

2008 runs fine in Vista 32bit mate. I am running it here with and 6750, 2gb, 8800gts and it doesn't miss a beat. Also have the same monitor as you. No tearing or anything. Though we will have to hold our breath to get a LOD mixer because the game could look better at distance.

Just to confirm that removing 2GB of RAM does work, although I am a bit miffed as to why this is. I have actually phoned Konami to inform them of this problem.
My system is :
ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe
AM2 4600+ CPU
4/2 GB PC2 5300 800Mhz RAM
BFG 8800 GTS o/c 320mb
500 Gig H/D (Raid config)
Creative Audigy soundblaster 2ZS (7.1)
Vista Premium 64 bit

PES 2008 now runs a treat having removed the RAM.

Make sure you have the latest driver for your graphic card too chaps!
Adios :amika:
