Ummmm, no. Ronaldo has shown interest towards us! He has all the power. Stop using Marca and Calderon as scapegoats. Ronaldo and you guys is where the problem is. We can't force anyone to play for us, all we can do is entice but that initial interest has to be there from any player. Im sure he wouldn't go to Siberia to play for an enormous sum! It's a combination of money, childhood dreams, moving on to better and bigger things and new challenges. As for Ferigie and td. it makes no sense to force someone to play for you if they are not into it 100%. Playing in England (unless you are afan of particular clubs) isn't that appealing to many players. Lifestyle, climate, and so on are very important. Add that to the fact that he will haver the chance to cement himself at the biggest club in football history and if he succeeds there, like he did at United, it'll definately place him in the allt ime ranks. Of course, this is all assuming he's not baiting you guys for more money

Regardless of what Ronaldo want, you are not helping maters by fueling all the rumours.

I feel that Real have been waaayy over-the-top in their courting of Ronaldo. Not only have their president and staff and players talked about how they want Ronaldo to join them, Madrid-based newspapers have been in overdrive churning out gossips and rumours about the possible move.

There's nothing wrong with wanting a player - almost every club wants to have Ronaldo. But its just the unethical and high-handed way that Real does it that is harmful for football. The message they send:- Real Madrid are the divine club and we've the right to get any player we want. This is absolutely disgusting in my opinion.

Aaron Ramsey is set to decide where he's going this week. Reports suggest he is leaning towards Arsenal however. :swear2:

Not going to lose any sleep over the loss for ramsey, I rather we buy established players.

Obviously he either lacks ambition or self confidence - either way that marks him out as a loser and simply not good enough to join United.

Fernandez

Team Captain
To be honest though, there could be a number of factors that could have swayed his decision to join Arsenal.

1. He doesn't want to go back to Cardiff on loan
2. He wants to train with a first team squad next season
3. He sees Flamini's and Hleb's imminent departures as an opportunity to claim a first team spot
4. Arsenal flew him to Switzerland to meet Arsene Wenger, we had Gary Neville bring him on a tour around the stadium and talk to SAF on a telephone

He is a good player, but its his loss to reject us for Arsenal. He should have looked at how we groomed Cristiano to become the best player in the world.

Maybe he didn't want to stay another season in the Championship...? I had a feeling this would happen. He's probably thinking he'd rather be at the Arse and he would most likely have a better chance at getting games for them this season. **** him, he doesn't want to come to OT that's his choice.

I only want to sign players that want to play for us.

And I hope we can buy David Villa. this guy is absolute quality.

1 and 3 probably did it.

Help?

If he ends up choosing Arsenal, for him personally it will probably be a better choice actually. Arsenal will always be up there with the top EPL teams still. And like Fernandez pointed out, he doesn't want to go back to Cardiff and Flamini and Hleb are gone meaning that his path into the middle of the field is not so blurry as it would have been at United with Carrick, Hargreaves and Anderson and only Scholes retiring soon. Besides, whether you like it or not Wenger is probably the best coach to train young players, just look what he has done with Flamini and Fabregas.

Thats probably one of the most ridiculous reasons i've heard. Having said that, its something i expect to find in this thread.

why all the upset over losing ramsey, we got bigger players to go after.

Where Wenger does well is the fact that he gives chances to youngsters he has signed. But if he is prepared to sacrifice years without a trophy then good luck to him. :D

IMO that will just serve him up nice for the short term but in the long run this decision will hurt him.

Obvioulsy if he is that good he will get his chance in the first team sooner rather than later.

Gazza also chose another club refusing to join us and we can what's his state now. SAF grooms players better. I am not comparing him with Ramsey but just giving an example.

If you are so smart then you must have been able to understand what I was saying. If you understood what I was saying and and still saying that then I there is obviously something wrong with you. I now know you are pn those racists who do malice to our people in the UK and spread a bad name for your country.

Why all the fuzz over this young player we have to look at other better players, as rightly said by ticcan.

Agreed, but his price will shoot into the stratosphere with a few more Euro 08 matches like that one. I want United to get Wesley Sneijder (even in a Ronaldo deal), I get more and more impressed every time I see him.

Benzema has come out and told the media he would prefer to move to Madrid when he leaves Lyon - but he sees his immediate future with them.

Also speaking of players in interviews, apparently Kaka has expressed an admiration for Man Utd and would like to play for us in the future, he went on to say Anderson is a good friend of his as well. This interview was recorded on Italian radio. Apparently about five minutes after these comments were aired, Milan slapped a "not for sale" message on their website! Funny how the Sun and the English press didn't blow that one into a huge story.

Over the top? How? By the way, how quick you are to forget the whole HargreAves saga:read: Hehehe! Sure, label us as the bad guys, it's an easy scapegoat. Marca can publish what ever they want, they are not Real Madrid. And by the way, Marca, although traditionally very pro Madrid, have it in for Calderon. If you knew the story there, you'd leave the Marca/Madrid connection out of this. Disgusting? Mate, you are totally over reacting. What it comes down to is Ronaldo! He has a mind of his own. If he's meant to be at United he will stay, if not he will leave. Period! His attitude towards this whole thing is to be questioned. Although he's made it public that it's his dream to play for us I still think this is a big ploy to get Man U shell out more money for him, to offer him a new deal. Sorry, if we threaten you but I assure you that we do not force anyone. First and foremost, the player has to show interet in playing for us. Thats the way it works.

Ok, lets get this straight. The only words anyone has actually heard Ronaldo say was "I stay!" right after the Champs final. since then i have seen nothing from Ronaldo other than a piss off Im trying to get ready for a big tournament.

Everything else has come from Pro-Madrid press. They want Ronaldo, they are the only people responsible for this circus. I have no issue with the Madrid staff answering questions put too them by the media, which is what they have been doing.

whether or not Marca like Calderon is irrelevant, they like Madrid and they want Ronaldo playing there. They also know that the club wants him too and might be willing to fork over the stupid cash required to get Man Utd too sell.

Are there pay offs with large sums of cash in little paper bags? probably not, but that still doesn't excuse the fact that they are reporting this bull**** as fact and Marca should be held accountable for that. but UEFA and FIFA have no jurisdiction over Marca other than they could deny Marca press passes to any football under their sphere of influence, either way they need to be pulled up for this crap they are pulling.

Now this isn't to say that other teams haven't done the very same thing or other newspapers haven't. but what is worrying is the way its is starting to blow out of all proportions. we need to put a stop to this, its not good for the clubs, players or fans. you just need to look at these boards to see how its blow up. I dont want bull****, i want the truth.

Yes, i am smart, and yes i understand what your saying, but its completely irrelevant and has absolutely no foundations. Signing for arsenal shows no lack of ambition, they're a huge club who play some of the best football in the land. They will be there or there abouts in every big competition for quite a few years to come so to say he lacks ambition is utter garbage. The same applies for lacking self confidence. And to judge the fact whether a player is good enough to play for United based on these two attributes, which you've made a mess of anyway, is just absurd.

As for the rest of your post, i'm not sure whether your just trying to raise a response out of me, or you truly believe what your saying, but from what i understood of it, your accusing me of racism for going against your opinion? If theres any hint of racism in our exchange its from you, bringing up the race differences, which before now i wasn't even aware of.

Ronaldo said yesterday that he'll only decide after the Euro. You guys were talking about him not having said anything and stuff, well these were his exact words, live, after yesterdays match.

As good as saying nothing and keeping silence on his future.

One good news though, Evra has signed a 4-year deal with us. :)

FINALLY!! I was worried about United fouling that up - Patrice has been outstanding for us and why Abidal is in the France XI instead is beyond me, Patrice Evra is the best left back in the world IMHO.

Scholari gone to Chelsea - no wonder he was advising Ronny to jump ship at United.

Also the media reports Klaus Jan Huntelaar has issued a "come and get me" plea to Real Madrid.

Arsenal also reported to be on the verge of securing Roque Santa Cruz over United too. :swear2:

I wish we'd hurry up and buy someone, I know David Gill said we wouldn't until after the Euros but everyone else is buying now.

Reports from Spain indicate Man Utd would definately insist on Sergio Ramos and Robinho in any Cristiano deal. We should get Wesley Sneijder - he is class.

uh Big phil did advice "Ronny" to jump ship. He said in a press conf. prior to the Portugal game against Georgia when asked what he thought of Ronaldo going to Madrid, he said he thinks Madrid is a once in a lifetime oportunity and he should take it.....
